Inky Bee Stampers

It is Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop. Thank you for stopping by my blog! I know that we’re going to have some great, inspiring projects on the Hop today! So let’s get to it!

My card for the Hop today showcases the beautiful Winter Owls Bundle and the lovely Winter Meadow 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.

We have a sketch challenge for today.

I started by adhering a pine tree print in Lost Lagoon from the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper pack to a Pretty Peacock mat. This panel was then adhered to a standard Pebbled Path card base. A piece of Lost Lagoon designer series paper was adhered to the side flap portion of the card measuring 4″ x 2″. The 1/2″ section of the side flap was turned under and I adhered a piece of Tear & Tape to this narrow section of the flap. The side flap was then adhered to the right edge of the card base on the inside of the card. Before completely adhering down, I made sure I could easily close the card and fold the flap over the front of the card.

The flying owl image was stamped in Pebbled Path ink onto a scrap piece of white cardstock. I used Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends to shade the owl’s wing and tail feathers and portions of his body. The coordinating die from the Winter Owls Dies set was used to cut out the image. Two branches were also die cut from Pebbled Path cardstock.

A 2-3/8″ Circle Punch was used to punch a circle sentiment from Smoky Slate cardstock. The sentiment “sending love” was stamped on the upper right of the circle in Pebbled Path ink. The owl was partially adhered to the lower left of the circle sentiment and then the sentiment was adhered to the side flap using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I trimmed down the die cut branches and tucked these under the back of the owl.

A 3/4″ strip of the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper was adhered to the right side of the inside panel. An additional sentiment was stamped in Pebbled Path ink. The panel was adhered to a Pretty Peacock mat and then adhered to the inside of the card.

The tree image from the Winter Owls Stamp Set was second-generation stamped two times onto the envelope front in Pebbled Path ink. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used my paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. Lastly, I adhered three Lost Lagoon Faceted Gems to the card front. These gems are gorgeous, by the way!

While the Winter Owls Bundle and Winter Meadow 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper is “winter” themed, this set and paper can be used any time of the year and for any occasion…just change up the sentiments!

Side Note: So I may have created cards two days in a row with paper that is currently unavailable…my bad! The good news is that the Winter Meadow 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper should be back in stock around September 25!
