Inky Bee Stampers

Today’s card was created using the Trucking Along Stamp Set and the fun Delightfully Eclectic 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. The Trucking Along Stamp Set has a companion builder punch, but this punch sold out almost immediately. The good news is that it will be available in October…just in time for the holidays!

I started off by cutting and scoring the card base from Misty Moonlight cardstock. The card base measures 11″ x 4-1/4″ and is scored at 4-1/4″ and 5-1/2″. The 4-1/4″ scoreline sits on the left of the card front. Next, I adhered panels of a Night of Navy and Misty Moonlight plaid print from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper to mats in Daffodil Delight. These panels were adhered to the card front. A length of white Baker’s Twine was wrapped around the front and inside section of the card between the 4-1/4″ and 5-1/2″ score lines and a bow was tied at the front of this slim panel…which is the book spine. The card base was opened, and I applied glue between the 4-1/4″ and 5-1/2″ scorelines and adhered this section of the card to the back panel of the card base.

On a square of Basic White cardstock measuring at least 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″, I began stamping the scene for the card front. I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink to first stamp the outline of the truck and the sunflowers sitting in the bed of the truck. Next, I stamped the truck again onto a Post It Note and fussy cut around the top of the truck. This mask was then adhered over the stamped truck on the square and I then stamped the detailed image of the tree sitting behind the front of the truck. The mask was removed, and I used Balmy Blue ink to stamp several clouds along the top of the square. The largest square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies was used to cut out the panel. I used a variety of Stampin’ Blends to color in the images. The stamped and colored square was then adhered to a Daffodil Delight mat.

Using the largest banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies, I die cut one label in Basic White and a second label in Daffodil Delight. The sentiment “Sending you sunny thoughts” in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink was stamped onto the white label. This label was then adhered to the Daffodil Delight label, and I left about a 1/4″ of the Daffodil Delight label showing on the right. The stamped and colored square was adhered to the card front and positioned in the lower right corner using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment label was adhered across the top of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside panel, I used the two-step tree stamps to stamp the tree onto the lower right corner of the panel. The detailed stamp was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the tree “fill” was stamped in Granny Apple Green ink. Several clouds were stamped across the top of the panel in Balmy Blue ink. The panel was adhered to a Daffodil Delight mat, then the unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

The same tree and cloud images were stamped onto the envelope front. I adhered a piece of coordinating designer series paper to the envelope flap and used my paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. Lastly, I added several yellow Glossy Dots to the card front.
