Stampin’ Up! Painted Christmas Soap Gift Box – Friday Fun Day Project!

Yay, it’s Friday! I hope everyone has enjoyed a good week. I couldn’t wait to start playing with the Christmas Banners Bundle and the Painted Christmas 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper!

Today’s Friday Fun Day project is this beautiful little soap gift box. My mom and I visited a craft fair last weekend and I picked up a couple of these handmade soaps from one of the vendors. The soap smells amazing, by the way! I would like to gift one of the soaps to a friend for Christmas. Wait! I need a box for that! This was a great excuse to play with the Christmas Banners Bundle. Wink, wink…

The box base and lid were cut from Garden Green cardstock. The box measures 3-1/2″ x 2-1/4″ x 2″ and is the perfect size for a bar of soap. Once the box base and lid were assembled, I added pieces of the Painted Christmas DSP to the box lid top and sides.

The Christmas Banners Dies have a wonderful selection of pine boughs, greenery, holly leaves and berries in addition to several banners that you can die cut. I cut several of the sprigs from Garden Green and Evening Evergreen cardstock and arranged them on the box lid in opposite corners.

The sentiment label was stamped in Evening Evergreen on a coordinating piece of DSP and a second banner was die cut from cardstock to reinforce the DSP banner. The sentiment was popped up on the box lid with a double layer of Stampin’ Dimensionals which gives the ribbon a little wiggle room and allows the ribbon to be easily tied and untied.

To finish off the box, I die cut two holly leaves and adhered them to the sentiment label. I then die cut berries from Real Red Glimmer Paper and added these to the holly leaves and greenery.

This box would also be a great size for gifting jewelry…just saying!

Wishing you all a great weekend!

    1. Thank you, Faith! Yes, you can smell the soap through the box. I have it at my desk so I can enjoy it all the time. Lucky I bought more than one bar of soap so I can enjoy one. 🙂 The paper in the Painted Christmas pack is beautiful! The dies to create all of the greenery are pretty awesome, too!
