Stampin’ Up! Autumn Leaves One-Piece Gift Box for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It is time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you are stopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog or you are starting off with my blog…welcome and thanks for stopping by! We have a fun challenge this week and I know you are going to be inspired by all of the projects! Let’s get started!

I did a little something different this week and created this pretty little one-piece gift box! I used the Flowering Zinnias 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and the Autumn Leaves Stamp Set and Autumn Leaves Dies to decorate the box.

Here is the challenge for this week’s Hop…

To create this box, you will need a sheet of 12″ x 12″ cardstock…I chose Crushed Curry. The cardstock was cut to 12″ x 8-1/2″. With the short edge facing up I used my Scoring Board to score at 1/2″, 2-1/2″, 4-1/2″ and 6-1/2″. The cardstock was rotated one turn, then on the 12″ side I scored at 2″, 4″, 8″ and 10″. I then cut away the pieces not needed. I used a bone folder to burnish all of the scorelines, then Tear & Tape was applied to the 1/2″ tab on the box base and the tab was adhered onto the opposite long edge. I provide a detailed diagram on the pdf tutorial linked below.

A star print from the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper pack was selected and I adhered panels to the top and sides of the box. I did not bother to cover the bottom of the box, but you can if you like.

Using the Autumn Leaves Stamp Set, I stamped the double leaf image in Crushed Curry ink onto a scrap piece of Crushed Curry cardstock (I used the cut-aways from the box base for this). I then used the Autumn Leaves Dies to cut out the stamped image. I also cut out two small maple leaves from Cherry Cobbler cardstock. The leaf veins were die cut from Copper Textured Metallic Specialty Paper. I stamped the sentiment from the Autumn Leaves Stamp Set onto a piece of white cardstock then used the long, slender label die from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out the sentiment.

The maple leaves were first adhered towards the top of the box, then I looped Linen Thread on top of the leaves. The Crushed Curry Leaves were then adhered on top of the looped Linen Thread. The sentiment label was adhered using a combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals and liquid glue. A single Gold Textured Adhesive-Backed Dot was added to the sentiment label to finish up the project.

This little box is perfect for holding small gifts or some treats. The box would also be great to use as a party favor! Decorate the box however you like for whatever the occasion! If you are making multiples of this box, the box will fold flat for storage, too.

I had so much fun creating this project for you. I hope you give it a try. Thanks again for stopping by my blog! If you would like to recreate this project you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
