It is Thursday once again and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you hopped over from Terry Lynn’s blog or you are starting off with my blog…welcome and thanks for stopping by! We have a fun challenge for the Hop today so be sure to use the links below to hop around and be inspired! Let’s go!

I have been sharing lots of holiday and Christmas cards with you, but I also like to share other paper crafting projects. This two-piece gift box was created using the Reindeer Fun Bundle and the Reindeer Days 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. This box measures 4″ x 4″ x 2″ and is nice and roomy! Fill it with homemade goodies or a gift.
We have a fun color challenge for the Hop today. I was able to use all of the colors in the challenge.

I started with an 8″ x 8″ piece of Garden Green cardstock for the box base, and I used my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score at 2″ on all sides. The box lid piece measures 6″ x 6″ and was scored at just under 1″ on all four sides. I used a pair of paper snips to cut down from the top and up from the bottom on all four corners of each piece to the first score line. The corner tabs were then cut in half (to help reduce bulk) and I cut a small wedge on each side of the corner tabs. From the right side of the box base, I used Stampin’ Seal + on the corner tabs, then adhered the tabs to the inside of the side pieces on the box base. I repeated this for the box lid.

Time to decorate the box! I adhered strips of a holly print from the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper to each of the box lid sides. From a piece of white cardstock measuring 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ I used the frame die from the Reindeer Fun Dies and centered it onto the cardstock then ran this through my die cutting machine. I adhered this die cut frame to a piece of Pool Party cardstock that was cut slightly smaller than the white cardstock then this was adhered to the top of the box lid. The Pool Party provides some nice winter atmosphere behind the frame!

The “Merry Christmas” sentiment was stamped onto a white sentiment label, then adhered to a Real Red mat. The sentiment was adhered to the lower right of the box lid using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A leaping reindeer was die cut from the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper using the Reindeer Days Dies. The reindeer was adhered to the center of the box lid using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a double bow from a length of Real Red & Gold Dotted Ribbon and the bow was adhered to the upper left of the box lid using Mini Glue Dots. I used a Pool Party Stampin’ Blend and colored five small Rhinestones. The Rhinestones were then adhered around the reindeer to finish up the project.

You might think box making is difficult, but it is actually quite easy. Once you make one the rest are simple! Easier said than done, you might say. For those that like a more visual view, click the Facebook image below to see the video tutorial for this box (and the bow).

Thanks again for stopping by my blog! If you would like to recreate this project you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
