Stampin’ Up! Shepherd’s Care Christmas Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

Welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop! If you are hopping over from Karen Finkle’s blog or you are starting off with my blog, welcome and thank you for stopping by! The theme for today’s hop is Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays and we can interpret that any way that we like. Be sure to use the links below to hop around and enjoy!

My card for today is lovely in its simplicity. I started off with a 5-1/4″ x 4″ Basic Beige Panel and stamped the shepherd and lamb image onto the lower left of the panel in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The shepherd’s head covering was colored in using Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends. The shepherd’s robe was colored in with an Ivory Stampin’ Blend and the ground was colored in with a Bronze Stampin’ Blend. I created the night sky by using a Blending Brush to blend Misty Moonlight ink over the top two thirds of the panel and I was careful not to blend any ink over the Shepherd. This created a pretty aura around the Shepherd. I used a separate Blending Brush to blend Crumb Cake ink over the lower third of the panel. I then used a white gel pen to dot stars into the sky. The stars are more prominent (larger) at the top of the panel and fade towards the middle of the panel. The panel was then adhered to the front of a Misty Moonlight card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the round sentiment from the Shepherd’s Care Stamp Set in Misty Moonlight ink onto a piece of Basic Beige cardstock measuring about 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″. After stamping the sentiment, I then second-generation stamped the large star image over the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink. I then used the third from largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out the sentiment. Three loops of Linen Thread were adhered diagonally onto the top right of the card front and the sentiment label was then adhered over top of the Linen Thread using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

An additional sentiment was stamped onto the inside panel in Misty Moonlight ink, and I stamped the small star image in the upper right corner in Misty Moonlight. The image of Bethlehem was stamped in Crumb Cake ink onto the lower right corner. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

I repeated stamping of the Bethlehem image in Crumb Cake ink onto the envelope front. The large star image was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink onto the envelope flap.

I hope you enjoyed my card for the Hop today! I showed this card to my husband, and he has already claimed it to give to a co-worker. If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
