It’s time again for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you are hopping over from Tara’s blog or you are starting off with my blog…welcome! I know we are going to see some inspirational projects today so let’s get started!

I have a fun gift card holder for you using the Snowy Wonder Bundle and the Snowy Scenes 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. This gift card holder is so cute and so easy to create using a standard card base!

We have a color challenge for today’s hop and I was able to use all of the colors in the challenge on my card. If you look closely you’ll see that the penguin’s nose and feet are colored with Pumpkin Pie.

I started off with a card base in Pool Party cardstock that measures 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. I scored on the long side of the base at 1-1/2″ and 4-1/4″ then folded both score lines as mountain folds. The 1-1/2″ section becomes the gift card holder on the inside of the card! I selected a diagonal stripe print and a candy cane print from the Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper and adhered panels to the card front, the 1-1/2″ section of the inside of the card and a panel to the right inside of the card.

To form the gift card holder on the inside of the card I used a 2″ Circle Punch to punch through the folded 1-1/2″ section at the center point. I then applied glue to only the top and bottom edges of this section and adhered the folded over cardstock together. I told you it was easy! Here’s a look at the gift card holder section.

To decorate the card front I die cut some snowflakes from White Glimmer Specialty Paper which were added to the top of the card front. A white snow globe and a snow globe base from the Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper. Before assembling the snow globe, I used a Sponge Dauber to blend Pool Party ink around the edges of the globe. I used the “Season’s Greetings” sentiment from the Snowy Wonder Stamp Set and stamped this onto a piece of the Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper. Because the Snowy Wonder Stamp Set is Photopolymer, I was able to bend the stamp so that it would match the curve of the snow globe base. I then adhered the snow globe base to the snow globe. This was then adhered to the card front. The penguin, hat and tree were all stamped onto white cardstock and cut out using the Snowy Wonder Dies, then these were adhered to the snow globe.

I used the “For You” sentiment from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set to stamp on the inside panel in Poppy Parade ink. Snowflakes were also stamped at the top of the panel in Pool Party ink. I repeated stamping of the penguin at the bottom of the panel then adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

The penguin was stamped again onto the envelope front with snowflakes stamped above the penguin. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap. I tied a small knot bow using Pool Party Pompom Ribbon and this was adhered just above the snow globe. Wink of Stella was used to add some glitter to the background of the snow globe and to all of the stamped snowflakes to complete the card.
