Stampin’ Up! Yuletide Village Holiday Card

Happy October! Can you believe how quickly the year has gone? This quick and easy card was created using the Yuletide Village Stamp Set and the Peaceful Season Bundle. The Yuletide Village Stamp Set lets you create quaint village scenes. Add some coloring with Stampin’ Blends or Watercolor Pencils, a little ink blending, and you’re done!

I started off with a white cardstock panel measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″. Before stamping the village houses, I first used a Blending Brush to lightly blend Night of Navy ink on the upper portion of the panel to add some sky. I then stamped the two houses and the pine trees across the bottom portion of the panel. The houses and pine trees were colored in with Gray Granite, Bronze/Ivory, Lemon Lolly, Real Red, Boho Blue and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends.

I used the snow stamp from the Yuletide Village Stamp Set to stamp snow in Balmy Blue above the houses and without reinking my Blending Brush I lightly blended Night of Navy ink in front of the houses. For the sentiment label, I chose the ribboned sentiment label die from the Peaceful Season Dies and I cut one white and one Real Red label. Some of the label dies in the Peaceful Season Dies have cutouts in them. On the white ribboned label, I cut away the ribbon ends on each side of the label. I then stamped the “Cheer All Year” sentiment in Real Red ink on the remaining white label. The white label was then adhered to the Real Red label using liquid glue. I applied Stampin’ Dimensionals to the center section of the label unit and a Mini Glue Dot to the ribboned Real Red ends of the unit, then adhered the sentiment onto the panel just above the houses. The combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots provide some dimension to the sentiment. Without reinking my Blending Brush, I lightly blended Night of Navy ink in front of the houses and beneath the pine trees. The panel was then adhered to a Real Red mat then adhered to the card front.

An additional sentiment from the Peaceful Season Stamp Set was stamped onto the inside panel in Real Red ink. I used the snow stamp from the Yuletide Villate Stamp Set to stamp snow above and around the sentiment in Balmy Blue ink. The small house was stamped onto the lower left corner along with two pine trees. The house and pine trees were colored in as before. Without reinking my Blending Brush, I blended Night of Navy ink under the trees and house. The panel was then adhered to a Real Red mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same small house and pine trees were stamped onto the envelope front and colored with Stampin’ Blends. Without reinking my Blending Brush, I lightly blended Night of Navy ink above the house and trees. A piece of Take A Bow Designer Series Paper in a Real Red polka dot print was adhered to the envelope flap, and I used a pair of paper snips to trim away the excess paper. I tied a small bow from Silver & White Sheer Ribbon and adhered the bow just above the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot to complete the card.
