Inky Bee Stampers

The Yuletide Village Stamp Set is a new stand-along stamp set that is now available for purchase. The stamp set contains images of adorable village houses and a church along with a few trees, lights and a brick wall. I love to watercolor, so this set was calling to me!

I first selected a Petal Pink snowflake print from the Snowy Scenes 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and adhered a panel to the front of an Early Espresso standard card base. On a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper cut to 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ I stamped a house image, tree and church image from the Yuletide Village Stamp Set towards the bottom of the panel. The images were stamped in Pool Party ink, then I used Pool Party, Petal Pink, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green and Early Espresso inks and a Watercolor Painter to watercolor the images. To complete the watercolor panel, I used the snowflake stamp from the Yuletide Village Stamp Set to stamp snow across the sky using Pool Party ink. The panel was then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the Christmas Labels Bundle (stamp set and dies) to create my sentiment label. Before adhering the label to the upper left of the card front, I wove a piece of Petal Pink Diagonal Trim through the die cut label, then adhered the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

From the Christmas Labels Stamp Set, I stamped the “Winter Wishes” sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto the inside panel. I stamped one of the small houses from the Yuletide Village Stamp Set onto the lower corner of the panel in Early Espresso ink. Snowflakes were stamped above the house in Pool Party ink. I then carefully painted in some details on the house using Pool Party, Early Espresso, Petal Pink, Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight inks. I was careful about how much water I applied to the cardstock when painting this image, so the cardstock was not damaged. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

I stamped the same small house onto the envelope front and lightly painted in some details. Snowflakes were stamped in Pool Party ink above the house. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I used a pair of paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. To finish up the card I added three clear Sequins to the card front.

While I chose to watercolor this little village scene, it would be just as much fun to use Stampin’ Write Markers or Stampin’ Blends to color in the images!
