Stampin’ Up! Playful Ghosts Trick or Treat Card for Amy’s Inkin Krew Team Blog Hop

It’s time for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop! If you are hopping over from Karen Finkle’s blog, or you are starting off the Hop from my blog today…Welcome! Our theme for the Hop this month is “Halloween Fun”, and we can interpret this any way that we’d like. I know you will see a lot of inspiration from my team members in the Hop today so be sure to use the links at the bottom of this blog post to check them out! This should be a fun one!

If you have followed my blog for any amount of time you know that I love creating scene cards…something that tells a story! This card was created using the fun Playful Ghosts Stamp Set and the Frosted Forest Stamp Set. The night scene on this card shows our little trick-or-treater walking under a big full moon to the next house on the block!

I selected a Fresh Freesia print from the Splendid Autumn 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack and I used a Blending Brush to blend Night of Navy ink around the edges – concentrating the color towards the top of the sky. I used the cloud stamp from the Playful Ghosts Stamp Set to stamp several clouds in Night of Navy ink. Using the Frosted Forest Stamp Set, I stamped the tree image on the left of the panel in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Stampin’ Blends were used to color in the tree image. I also used a Pebbled Path Stampin’ Blend to draw in a little hill towards the bottom of the panel.

I used a 2″ Circle Punch to punch out a moon from Lemon Lolly cardstock then lightly blended Night of Navy ink around the edges and across the surface. The Trick or Treat sentiment was stamped onto the moon in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, then adhered towards the upper right using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The stamped and colored panel was then adhered to a Peach Pie mat, then adhered to the card front. The Dracula and pumpkins were stamped onto white cardstock then colored with Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut. The Dracula was added to the bottom of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and the pumpkins were adhered using a little liquid glue.

On the inside panel, I again stamped and colored the tree and pumpkin images, then stamped the “Happy Halloween” sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The panel was adhered to a Peach Pie mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

I repeated stamping of the pumpkins on the envelope front and stamped the bat image from the Playful Ghosts Stamp Set just above the pumpkins. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used a pair of paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. I tied a small bow from Large Check Ribbon and adhered the bow to the left of the moon using Mini Glue Dots.

The Playful Ghosts Stamp Set is a stand-alone stamp set and can be found in the Online Exclusives section of the Online Store. So cute! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
