Inky Bee Stampers

The upcoming September-December 2024 Mini Catalog will be released on September 4 and you’re going to love what is coming. The catalog is packed full of new products for creating fall and holiday cards as well as everyday sets. Today’s card was created using products from the Splendid Autumn Suite Collection including the Autumn Expressions Bundle and some awesome new embellishments and ribbon!

I started off by selecting a pretty sunset scene from the Splendid Autumn 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack. The print has lots of purples, oranges, yellows and greens. A panel was adhered to a Blackberry Bliss mat, then adhered to the front of a Fresh Freesia card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I wanted to pull out some of the bright sky colors, so I created some watercolor leaves using Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, some Ink Refills and a watercolor brush. I first wet the watercolor paper really well with clean water, then I used a brush to drop Cherry Cobbler, Highland Heather, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry inks onto the wet surface. I let the panel dry completely then I used the leaf image from the Autumn Expressions Stamp Set and stamped this several times over the watercolor paper using Blackberry Bliss ink. The coordinating die from the Autumn Expressions Dies was used to cut out the leaves. I also die cut three leaf sprigs from Mossy Meadow card stock.

I used the Deckled Circle Dies to cut a large circle from Fresh Freesia card stock and the sentiment was stamped onto the circle in Blackberry Bliss ink. A length of Blackberry Bliss & Gold Textured Ribbon was adhered to the lower left of the card front, and the sentiment label was adhered over top of the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Woven Golden Leaves, the Mossy Meadow leaf sprigs and the water-colored leaves were arranged above the sentiment label and adhered to the card front using liquid glue.

A 3/4″ strip of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the inside panel and the panel was adhered to a Blackberry Bliss mat, then adhered to the inside of the card base.

The leaf image from the Autumn Expressions Stamp Set was partially stamped onto the envelope front in Blackberry Bliss ink. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I used my paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. Three large Faux Glass Dots were adhered to the card front to finish up the project.

I love how the brightly colored watercolor leaves help to pull out the oranges, yellows and purples in the designer series paper! If you would like to recreate this card you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
