Inky Bee Stampers

For today’s card I used the lovely Winter Meadow 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and the upcoming Winterly Tree Tops Bundle. I started off by selecting a pine tree print from the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper pack. The panel was trimmed to 5″ x 3-3/4″ and was matted to a piece of Basic Black cardstock, then matted to a piece of Pebbled Path cardstock. The single bird and berries image was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock in Tuxedo Black Memento ink then colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends including Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, Pebbled Path, Moody Mauve and Ivory. I used the Winterly Tree Tops Dies to cut out the image. While die cutting I also cut a total of eight pine boughs – 4 from Pretty Peacock cardstock and 4 from Lost Lagoon cardstock. The berry and leaf image was fussy cut from another piece of paper from the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper.

A sentiment from the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set was stamped onto a Pebbled Path sentiment label measuring 3-3/4″ x 3/4″ in VersaMark Ink. I then sprinkled white embossing powder over the stamped sentiment and used my Heat Tool to set the embossing powder. A banner was cut on the right side of the label using a pair of paper snips. I used a small strip of Stampin’ Seal across the bottom left of the card front then adhered a length of Silver Trim in a zig zag pattern. The sentiment label was then adhered over top of the trim. The bird and berry pieces were adhered towards the upper two thirds of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals then the die cut pine boughs were tucked in around the bird and berries using liquid glue.

On the inside panel, I stamped an additional sentiment then stamped and colored the bird image onto the lower corner of the panel. I opted to also double mat the inside panel. The panel was adhered to a black mat, then adhered to a Pebbled Path mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

I repeated stamping and coloring of the single bird image onto the envelope front. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I used a pair of paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. To finish up the card I adhered three Lost Lagoon Faceted Gems to the card front.

The double matting on this card along with the Faceted Gems adds some weight to this card so it will require some additional postage…but it is so worth it! The images from the Winterly Tree Tops Bundle blend beautifully with the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper!
