A few weeks ago, I shared a card with you created from the Nests of Winter Suite Collection. I pulled out this suite once again to create today’s card. The Nests of Winter Suite Collection will be available in early September (date will be announced soon) with the release of the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog. The suite includes the Nests of Winter 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper, Winterly Tree Tops Bundle, Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder, Natural Tones Linen Thread, and the Earth Tones Shimmer Gems. This is a MUST HAVE suite! The paper, images, thread and gems are just beautiful!
To start off, I selected the birch wood print paper from the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper and cut a panel to 5-1/4″ x 4″. I then used the Birch Wood 3D Embossing folder to emboss the panel. I then used a Blending Brush to lightly blend Early Espresso ink over the entire panel to really make the embossing stand out. I concentrated the Early Espresso ink more on the edges and corners of the panels – making these darker. The panel was then adhered to an Early Espresso mat and then adhered to the front of a Cherry Cobbler card base.

Using the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set, I stamped the image of the birds and stamped the twig image two times onto a piece of white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I wanted the birds to resemble Tufted Titmice, so I Googled images of these birds then used a variety of Stampin’ Blends to color in the images. The Winterly Tree Tops Dies were used to cut out the colored images. I also die cut multiple pine boughs in Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce. The bird image was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then adhered some of the pine boughs and one of the twigs around the birds.

The Greetings of the Season Bundle was used to cut out and stamp the sentiment. The “Happy Holidays” sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink, then adhered to the upper left of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I adhered a few more pine boughs and a twig image around the left side of the sentiment. I tied a double bow from the Cajun Craze Natural Tones Linen Thread and adhered the bow to the left side of the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot. Multiple Earth Tones Shimmer Gems were also added to the card front.
On the inside panel, an additional sentiment from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set was stamped onto the panel. I used a Blending Brush to lightly blend Early Espresso ink onto the lower right corner of the panel, then stamped the twig image from the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set over top of the ink blended area. I used Stampin’ Blends to color in the images. The panel was adhered to an Early Espresso mat, then adhered to the inside of the card.

On the lower left corner of the envelope front I used a Blending Brush to lightly blend Early Espresso ink then stamped the same twig image two times over the ink blended area. I used Stampin’ Blends to color in the images. The designer series paper reserved for the envelope flap was first ink blended with Early Espresso ink around the edges, then I adhered the panel to the flap. I used a pair of paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap to finish up the card.

This completes today’s card! Did I mention that some of the dies in the Winterly Tree Tops Dies cut out images from the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper? It’s true! You will want to grab the Nests of Winter Suite Collection in early September!
