Stampin’ Up! Inspiring Snapdragons Sympathy Card

Today’s card uses the lovely Inspiring Snapdragons Bundle (stamps and dies). I have created a sympathy card for today, but this could easily be made into a birthday card, friendship card or think of you card just by changing up the sentiment.

I started off with a white panel measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″. To create a background, I used the medium-sized snapdragon image from the Inspiring Snapdragons Stamp Set and second-generation stamped this image approximately 1″ from the bottom edge of the panel in Granny Apple Green ink. I repeated this across the width of the panel. I then second-generation stamped the dotted image across the panel in Granny Apple Green ink. The panel was adhered to a Highland Heather mat, then adhered to the front of a Granny Apple Green card base.

Using the Inspiring Snapdragons Dies, I die cut the small, medium and large snapdragon pieces from various colored cardstocks. I paired a Highland Heather solid image with a Fresh Freesia detailed image, a Calypso Coral solid image with a Flirty Flamingo detailed image and a Petunia Pop solid image with a Pretty in Pink detailed image to create the three snapdragon flowers. I also die cut 9 stems from Granny Apple Green cardstock in various sizes. The sentiment for the card front was stamped onto white cardstock in Granny Apple Green ink and I used one of the label dies from the Unbounded Love Dies to cut out the image. The snapdragons were adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals, then the sentiment label was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The stems were tucked in around the flowers and adhered with liquid glue. I also stamped two dragonflies in Azure Afternoon ink and colored these in with Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy and Basic Black watercolor pencils. These dragonflies were die cut then added towards the top of the card front. Wink of Stella was added to the dragonfly’s wings.

On the inside panel, the “Wishing you strength” sentiment was stamped in Granny Apple Green ink. I used the small snapdragon image and first and second generation stamped flowers in Granny Apple Green onto the lower left corner of the panel then stamped a dragonfly above the flowers in Azure Afternoon ink. The dragonfly was colored in as before. Wink of Stella was added to the dragonfly’s wings. The panel was then adhered to a Highland Heather mat then adhered to the inside of the card.

I again first and second generation stamped the snapdragon image onto the envelope front in Granny Apple Green ink then stamped and colored the dragonfly. A small Linen Thread bow was adhered to the card front using a Mini Glue Dot. I used a piece of the Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper in a Granny Apple Green floral print to the envelope flap and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap using a pair of paper snips.

The Inspiring Snapdragons Bundle truly creates a beautiful card. I used quite a few different colored cardstocks on this card but use what you have in your paper stash to create your own brightly colored snapdragons!
