Happy 4th of July and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! I hope everyone has some fun plans to celebrate today! If you are stopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog or you are starting with my blog…thanks for stopping by! We have a fun Sketch Challenge for today’s Hop so let’s get started! Don’t forget to use the links at the bottom of this post to see more inspiration!
I used the Unbounded Love Bundle, Flowers of Beauty Dies, and the fun Paper Butterfly Accents for my card today. I also pulled in some pretty Country Lace Designer Series Paper and Country Woods Designer Series Paper as well.

Here is the Sketch Challenge for today…

I started off by cutting two panels – a Petal Pink circle print from the Country Lace Designer Series Paper and a Smoky Slate woodgrain print from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper to 5-1/4″ x 4″. On one of the panels I measured 2″ from the top left corner down and 1″ from the bottom right corner across and made a light pencil mark at each of these measurements. The two panels were stacked together and I lined up the pencil marks in my Paper Trimmer and made a diagonal cut. I am only using one each of the panels so you would have extra panels to make a second card if you’d like. The Petal Pink panel was adhered to the top of a Peach Pie mat and the Smoky Slate panel was adhered to the bottom of the mat.

I cut a 6″ piece of White Diagonal Trim and wrapped the trim around the diagonal join between the two panels. The ends of the trim were wrapped around the panel unit and secured to the back using Tear & Tape. The panel unit was then adhered to the front of a Night of Navy card base using liquid glue.

Using the Unbounded Love Stamp Set, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment onto a piece of Petal Pink cardstock in Peach Pie ink. The decorative rectangular die from the Unbounded Love Dies was used to cut out the sentiment. This die cuts both the inside of the sentiment and a frame. I cut another sentiment label from white cardstock and used the white frame with the stamped sentiment for the inside portion of the label.
Three butterflies from the Paper Butterfly Accents were colored in using Peach Pie and Pebbled Path Stampin’ Blends. I also die cut several small sprigs from white cardstock using the Flowers of Beauty Dies. The sentiment label, butterflies and sprigs were arranged onto the card front. The two smaller butterflies were adhered to the lower portion of the card front using liquid glue. The sentiment label and larger butterfly were adhered to the upper portion of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sprigs were tucked in just above the left corner of the sentiment label.
Using another large butterfly image from the Paper Butterfly Accents I placed this butterfly onto the lower corner of the inside panel. I then used a sponge dauber to dab Peach Pie ink across the paper butterfly and all around the edges to create a negative image of the butterfly onto the panel. A second sentiment was stamped onto the inside panel as well and then the panel was adhered to a Peach Pie mat then adhered to the inside of the card.

I used the same butterfly mask to ink a negative butterfly image onto the envelope front using Peach Pie ink. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I used a pair of paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. Three Smoky Slate Pearls were added in a vertical line just above the sentiment label to finish up the card.

The Paper Butterfly Accents are a fun way to decorate your cards – whether it is the card front or the inside of the card! And of course, the Country Lace Designer Series Paper and Country Woods Designer Series Paper adds a lovely touch!
