This adorable Valentine Treat Basket is perfect for gifting a small treat to all of the Valentine’s in your life and the basket works up quickly! This would be an easy project to make multiples of! The basket measures 2″ x 2″ x 2″ so it’s a good size. I used the Adoring Hearts Bundle (stamps and dies) along with the Hooray for Surprises Dies and the Mini Alphabet Dies. Paper from the Most Adored 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper decorate the sides of the basket. The front and back of the basket show off some pretty die cut hearts and the sides of the basket are sending kisses (XO)!
The box is constructed from a 6″ x 6″ piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock which was scored at 2″ on each side. The handle measures 5″ x 1/2″ and was also cut from Flirty Flamingo cardstock. On the basket piece of cardstock, I folded and burnished on all of the score lines with a bone folder. I then used my paper snips to cut up both score lines to the first intersecting score line. I then repeated this for the opposite side of the square. This forms two tabs. To reduce bulk these tabs were cut in half. I then adhered pieces of Tear & Tape to each tab.

One side of the box was folded up and the tab was adhered to the outside of the box side. This was repeated for the opposite side. Tear and Tape was adhered to the remaining box sides and adhered to form the basket.

The handle ends were then adhered to the outsides of the basket. -7/8″ squares of a Flirty Flamingo heart print paper from the Most Adored 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper were adhered to all sides of the basket.
The large Real Red hearts were die cut from the Hooray for Surprises Dies and the smaller, detailed cut out hearts in Flirty Flamingo were die cut from the Adoring Hearts Dies set.

Because this little basket is sending lots of hugs and kisses, two “X’s” and O’s” were die cut from the Mini Alphabet Dies set in Real Red. The small Flirty Flamingo hearts were adhered to the larger Real Red hearts then these were adhered to the front and back of the basket. The hugs and kisses (X’s and O’s) were adhered to the sides of the basket.

The “Just for You” sentiment was stamped in Real Red ink onto a piece of scrap white cardstock and I used the wavy banner die from the Adoring Hearts Dies to cut out the sentiment. The sentiment was adhered to the basket front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Several Flirty Flamingo Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots were adhered to the basket front.

I used a food safe cellophane bag to hold the treat. The bag was tied closed with a length of Flirty Flamingo Twine and a length of Silver & White Sheer Ribbon.
This was a fun, quick project and would be great for producing multiples at one time. How will you decorate your Valentine Treat Basket? More importantly…what kind of sweet treat will you fill the basket with?
