Inky Bee Stampers

Happy Friday! I used the Feathered Flight Stamp Set, Glorious Gingham 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and a little coloring with Watercolor Pencils to create today’s fun fold card! I’m a big bird watcher so I’m in love with this stamp set…especially the image of the male and female Mallard Ducks together ♥!

To start off I cut a card base from Pretty Peacock measuring 5-1/2″ x 5-1/4″. With the short side facing up, I scored the piece at 4-1/4″, which creates a 1″ flap on the card front. I used the Pretty Peacock colorway from the Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper and adhered panels to Lost Lagoon mats for the outside and inside sections of the card base.

Two pieces of white cardstock were cut to 3-3/8″ x 3-3/8″ for the outside and inside panels. On one of these panels, I second-generation stamped the image of the two ducks onto the lower portion of the panel using Smoky Slate ink. I used Watercolor Pencils in Coastal Cabana, Garden Green, Night of Navy, Pecan Pie, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Blamy Blue, and Basic Black to color in the image. The panel was then adhered to a mat in Lost Lagoon and the left back edge of this panel was adhered to the 1″ front panel of the card base using Tear & Tape. The panel was centered from top to bottom and left to right.

The sentiment for the card front was stamped onto a piece of scrap white cardstock in Pretty Peacock ink. I used the smallest die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set to cut out the sentiment label and the label was then matted to a piece of Pretty Peacock. Before adhering the label down with Stampin’ Dimensionals, I first tied a large, loopy bow from Linen Thread and adhered this to the top of the colored panel using Stampin’ Seal. The sentiment label was then adhered into place.

On the inside panel, the image of the three flying ducks was stamped in the upper left corner in Smoky Slate ink. A second sentiment was stamped onto the panel in Pretty Peacock ink. Adhesive was applied to the back of the panel, then flipped over and centered over the back of the square on the card front. I then closed the back flap of the card base to adhere the inside panel to the inside of the card.

The same duck image was stamped onto the envelope front and a piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap with the excess paper trimmed away from the flap. Several sequins were adhered to the card front to finish up the card.
