It is Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Thank you for stopping by my blog to have a look! I can’t wait to see what the other bloggers have in store for today! Here is the card I created…it is an accordion pop out fun fold! Check out all of the real estate for pretty paper!

We have a color challenge for today’s Hop and I was able to use all of the colors in the challenge!

The accordion pop out card looks complicated too create but it is actually very simple. You will definitely want to use the Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer, though, as the trimmer blade has an arrow so you can see exactly where the blade is cutting. This card consists of two card bases. The first is a 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of cardstock with no scorelines or cuts. The second card base measures 11″ x 5-1/4″ and is scored at 1-3/4″, 3-1/2″, 5-1/4″, and 7″. The diagrams below illustrate where to cut this card base and how to fold each section of the card base.

I used a leaf and berry print and the Shaded Spruce solid print from the Joy of Christmas 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to decorate my card. Each panel of designer series paper was matted to a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock, then adhered to the card base. You will find complete cutting instructions and measurements in the linked pdf tutorial below.

For the front card panel, I third generation stamped the leaf and berry image from the Joy of Noel Stamp Set in Pebbled Path ink. The sentiment, from the Christmas Classics Stamp Set, was stamped to the left of the panel. Two holly leaves were die cut from Shaded Spruce cardstock using the Christmas Classics Dies. Before adhering the holly leaves to the panel, I first lightly blended Pebbled Path ink around the panel edges to give it an antiqued look. The holly leaves were then adhered to the right of the sentiment. I used a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend to color three white sequins, and these were adhered at the base of the holly leaves and serve as holly berries! The holly leaves were dusted with Wink of Stella to give the card some extra sparkle.

For the inside panel, I stamped the same leaf and berry image down the right side of the panel in Pebbled Path ink. I used Shaded Spruce, Old Olive, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends to color the images. A Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter was used to create a highlight on each of the red berries. Without reinking my Blending Brush, I lightly blended Pebbled Path ink over the colored images to give them an antiqued look. The panel was adhered to a Cherry Cobbler mat, then adhered to the inside of the card base.

The accordion card base was then adhered to the Cherry Cobbler card base. The envelope front was decorated with holly and berries and a piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap with the excess paper trimmed away. I hope you enjoyed my card for today’s Hop. I realized I hadn’t made this card fold in well over a year…so I was overdue to make one!
