This pretty easel card has all of the sparkle and shine with lots of gold embossing! I used the Stars at Night Bundle (which includes the Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder) and the O Holy Night 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. You can find these items in the September-December 2023 Mini Catalog as part of the O Holy Night Suite Collection!
I started off by cutting and scoring the card base from Night of Navy cardstock. The card base measures 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and is scored at 4-1/4″ and 2-1/8″. I selected a Night of Navy print from the O Holy Night Designer Series Paper measuring 5″ x 3-3/4″ and stamped the “Celebrating the magic of the season” in VersaMark ink across the bottom left of the panel. I sprinkled gold embossing powder over the sentiment and used my Heat Tool to set the embossing powder. The panel was then adhered to a Boho Blue mat and then adhered to the card front. When creating an easel card, the panel is only adhered to the section between the 2-1/8″ score line and the bottom edge of the card base in order to keep the “easel” portion of the card functional.
I used the Stars at Night Dies and the Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder to die cut and emboss three large stars from Gold Foil Sheets (refer to the linked pdf tutorial below for more information). I then die cut three small stars from Gold Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper. One small star was then adhered to each of the larger stars. A small amount of Stampin’ Seal was applied to the card front toward the top center and I adhered several loops of Gold Simply Elegant Trim to the Stampin’ Seal. The two small die cut and embossed stars were adhered to the left and right of the card front using liquid glue. The largest star was adhered to the center of the card front over the gold trim using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Here is a close up of the small Glimmer Paper stars applied to the larger die cut and embossed stars.
A second panel of the Night of Navy designer series paper print was adhered to a Boho Blue mat, then adhered to the inside of the card. On the inside white panel, measuring 4-3/4″ x 2-1/4″, I stamped the multi-star image in VersaMark ink and sprinkled gold embossing powder over the stamped image and used my Heat Tool to set the embossing powder. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.
The sentiment “Wishing you the best & brightest holiday season” was stamped in VersaMark ink onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock. The sentiment was embossed using gold embossing powder. I used the label die from the Stars At Night Dies to cut out the sentiment and the sentiment was then adhered towards the bottom of the inside of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. This popped up sentiment acts as the “stop” to hold up the easel portion of the card.
Now for the finishing touches! The same multi-star image was gold embossed onto the envelope front. I adhered a coordinating piece of designer series paper to the envelope flap and used my paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. Several Adhesive-Backed Star Trinkets were added to the card front. While I don’t usually use heat embossing on the insides of cards or on envelopes…this card just called for it! I love all of the gold shine! How about you?
