The beautiful Shining Christmas 12” x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper was used to create today’s card and I specifically chose the Collar Fun Fold to help show off the paper! This paper needs to be seen to be truly appreciated. The paper contains shiny foil accents with the reverse print on each sheet in a mat Cherry Cobbler and white pattern. It is gorgeous! I also used the Christmas Classics Stamp Set for sentiments and images and the Stylish Shapes Dies for the sentiment label.
The Collar Fun Fold is easy to create. I started with a 5” x 3-3/4” piece of the Shining Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper in a holly and berry print. On the long edge of this panel, I located the center point, then made a vertical 2” cut. Each corner on the left and right of the cut line was folded back to create a shirt collar look…hence the fun fold name.

The Specialty paper panel was then laid on top of a white mat and I used a pencil to lightly mark the V shape on the mat that was created by the folded corners. The panel was removed, and I stamped the pine bough image from the Christmas Classics Stamp Set in the “V” area marked by pencil lines. The image was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink and was first and second-generation stamped several times. The pencil lines were then erased. The Specialty paper panel was then adhered to the Basic White mat. Real Red Ribbon was wrapped around this panel vertically with the ends secured to the back of the panel with Stampin’ Seal. The panel was then adhered to the front of a Mossy Meadow card base.

The second to largest circle die was used to cut out a Mossy Meadow sentiment label. The “Deck the Halls” sentiment was stamped onto the label using VersaMark ink and I sprinkled white embossing powder over the area then used a Heat Tool to set the embossing powder. The sentiment label was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and was positioned on the left side of the card and over top of the wrapped ribbon. Using two lengths of Real Red Ribbon I tied a bow and adhered the bow to the right center of the sentiment label using Mini Glue Dots.
An additional sentiment from the Christmas Classics Stamp Set was stamped on the inside panel in Cherry Cobbler ink and the decorative dashed line image was stamped just below the sentiment. The pine bough image was first and second-generation stamped onto the upper left and lower right corners of the panel in Mossy Meadow ink. [The pine bough image from the Christmas Classics Stamp Set stamps beautifully BTW!] The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card base.

The same pine bough image was first and second-generation stamped onto the envelope front. A piece of coordinating specialty designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap using my paper snips. I used the dark shade of a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend to color five Rhinestone Basic Jewels. A large rhinestone was placed on the left side of the sentiment label and the remaining smaller rhinestones were adhered around the stamped pine boughs.

I’m looking forward to creating more projects using the Shining Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper – maybe a gift box or some gift tags. If you would like to recreate this card click on the image below to download, save or print the pdf tutorial.

Have a wonderful day!
