Stampin’ Up! O Holy Night Luminaire Box Fold Christmas Card

Last week I shared a box fold card with you using the O Holy Night Suite of products. On my Facebook Live last week, I promised to share a special box fold card with you and here it is! This card uses the same suite of products; however, this version includes a vellum window and a box large enough to hold a tea light. Friends and family would be so pleased to receive this Christmas card that they can display!

If you would like to see last week’s box fold card that I shared on my Facebook Live, click here.

This Luminaire Box Fold card was created the same as last week’s card except that I adjusted the two center score lines on this card in order to get the depth I needed to accommodate a tea light. (Don’t worry…I have complete instructions on how to do this in the linked pdf below!) Once the measurements were determined for the box portion of the card, I adhered a panel of the O Holy Night Designer Series Paper in a star pattern to the center panel then used the 3rd largest die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set to cut out the opening. A piece of vellum was then adhered to the back side of this center panel to create a window.

The box portion of the card was adhered to the card base and the remaining designer series paper panels were adhered to the card. I die cut the manger from Copper Clay cardstock. In order to get the manger to fit the center panel of this card, I had to cut the posts away from the roof of the manger. The right and left sides of the manger roof also needed to be trimmed down so that the card would fit the card base when closed. The manger posts and roof were then adhered to the center panel.

The Holy Family was die cut from Gold Foil Sheets and the Wiseman and Sheppard were trimmed away. The Wiseman was adhered to the left panel of the card and the Sheppard was adhered to the right panel of the card. Jesus, Mary and Joseph were adhered to the center panel on top of the vellum. I added a donkey in front of Joseph which was cut from Copper Clay cardstock. A white lamb was added in front of the Sheppard and several clouds were added to the sky on the right and left panels. Two stars were die cut from Gold Foil and adhered to each other, then adhered to the center of the manger roof.

For the inside panel (which is actually adhered to the back of the card) I stamped the multi-star image from the Stars at Night Stamp Set in Balmy Blue down the left edge of the panel. The sentiment was stamped on the left side of the panel and partially over the stars in Misty Moonlight ink. The panel was then adhered to a Copper Clay mat and then adhered to the back of the card.

The same multi-star image was stamped onto the lower corner of the envelope flap in Misty Moonlight ink. I adhered a coordinating piece of designer series paper to the envelope flap and used my paper snips to trim the excess paper away from the flap. Several Adhesive-Backed Star Trinkets were adhered to the card front.

You can stand this card up and slip a tea light inside of the box portion of the card to illuminate the manger scene…beautiful! The box will accommodate a teal light that is 1-3/8″ in diameter. The card folds flat to easily fit inside of a standard A2 envelope.

I provide complete instructions on the linked pdf tutorial and share with you how to adjust the two center scorelines to change the width of the center panel. To download, save and print the pdf tutorial, click on the image below.
