Inky Bee Stampers

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year and so I had fun creating this Fall-like watercolor background for my card today! Pretty stamped and die cut leaves and greenery adorn the front of the card and were created using the Autumn Leaves Bundle and the Textured Florals Dies.

To create the watercolor background, I first pulled out some of my Fall colored inks, including Wild Wheat, Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie. A panel of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper was sprayed with water using a misting spray bottle until the paper was completed saturated. I then used a small paint brush to begin dropping the first color onto the wet panel, and then moved on to the next color, making sure to rinse my brush off in between colors. The panel was allowed to dry completely.

The watercolor panel was trimmed down to 5″ x 3-3/4″ and adhered to an Old Olive mat. This was then adhered to the front of an Early Espresso card base.

Using the Autumn Leaves Bundle, several leaves were stamped and die cut. I also die cut two of the leaf veins from Early Espresso cardstock to use as twigs. Two greenery pieces were die cut from Old Olive cardstock using the Textured Florals Dies. The die cut pieces were arranged onto the card front, then adhered down using liquid glue. Loops of Linen Thread were added to the lower right corner and I added a round sentiment label over top of the looped thread.

An additional sentiment was stamped onto the inside panel and the maple leaf was stamped onto the lower left corner of the panel, along with a few twigs. The panel was adhered to a mat in Old Olive, then adhered to the inside of the card.

I stamped some more “twigs” (actually leaf veins) onto the front of the envelope and adhered a piece of the beautiful All About Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper to the envelope flap and trimmed the excess paper away from the flap. Several Adhesive-Backed Speckled Dots were added to the card front.
