Stampin’ Up! One Horse Open Sleigh Holiday Card

Happy Monday! Here is another holiday card idea for you using the One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper! This card was very quick to put together and any scene from the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper would work for this card design so it would be very easy to make multiple cards at one time. The Countryside Corners Dies were used to die cut the octagons and sentiment label. The sentiments and pine tree images are from the Regal Reindeer Stamp Set – both are available in the 2023-2025 Annual Catalog.

I started with a panel of the pine tree print from the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper and used the 3rd to largest octagon from the Countryside Corners dies to cut out the center of the panel. I set the cut out octagon aside. The panel with the cut out shape was adhered to a mat in Pebbled Path cardstock and I adhered this unit to the front of a Crumb Cake card base.

From Pebbled Path cardstock, I cut out a larger octagon using the 2nd to largest die from the Countryside Corners Dies set and adhered the smaller designer series paper octagon to this. A length of gray Baker’s Twine was wrapped around the left side of the matted octagon and tied into a bow. The panel was then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I took care to line up the images of the trees when placing this center octagon. The pattern is not as obvious on this particular designer series paper print…it would be more obvious on some of the other prints, though. The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap piece of white cardstock, and I used the smallest octagon from the Countryside Corners Dies to cut out the label. The sentiment was adhered to the right side of the octagon using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside panel, an additional sentiment was stamped in Pebbled Path ink. I used the multi-pine tree image from the Regal Reindeer Stamp Set and partially stamped pine trees across the bottom of the panel. I varied the height of the pine trees and alternated stamping them in Pebbled Path and Crumb Cake ink. I used the light shade of Pebbled Path and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends to color in the trees. The panel was adhered to a mat in Pebbled Path and then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same pine tree images were partially stamped onto the envelope front in both Pebbled Path and Crumb Cake ink and colored the same as the inside panel. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap. Lastly, I added several gold Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes to the card front.

This is one of my favorite card designs and it is so simple and quick! If you would like to recreate this card, you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
