Inky Bee Stampers

Pretty doesn’t need to be complicated! I created this card using the Night of Flight Stamp Set (a Host Exclusive stamp set from the Annual Catalog). I pulled the sentiment from the Lasting Joy Stamp Set. A little coloring with some Stampin’ Blends, matting and the card is done! It doesn’t get any easier than this! I debated on adding some dry embossing to the larger white panel and adding some ribbon, but honestly, I really love the clean look of this card and the white really makes the butterfly pop!

A Basic White panel was adhered to the Highland Heather card base. I stamped the butterfly onto a 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ white panel in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored the image using a variety of Stampin’ Blends in Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Blackberry Bliss, Pebbled Path and Smoky Slate. The Smoky Slate was used to add a drop shadow under the butterfly’s wings. I also used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker to darken areas on the butterfly’s body and I also used the marker to darken the outline under the wings. The drop shadow and darkening with the black marker really give the butterfly some dimension. The sentiment was stamped in Highland Heather ink onto the lower right corner of the panel. The panel was matted to a piece of Highland Heather cardstock and then adhered to the center of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To keep things simple, the same butterfly image was partially stamped onto the lower corner of the inside panel and the butterfly was colored the exact same way as on the front of the card.

I repeated stamping of the butterfly on the envelope. The butterfly was partially stamped onto the lower corner of the envelope front and fully stamped onto the envelope flap, and I colored these images. Large, medium and small purple Glossy Dots were added to the left of the sentiment on the card front to complete the card.
