Inky Bee Stampers

I have a fun birthday shaker card for you today! While it might look complicated to create, shaker cards are actually very easy to put together! I used the Beautiful Balloons Bundle, Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and the Gold Celebrations 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper to create this card.

I started off by using the largest square die in the Stylish Shapes Dies set to cut out a window on a basic white panel. The small confetti image was then stamped across the panel a few times using Misty Moonlight, Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist inks. I then adhered a square of the Gold Celebrations Specialty Designer Series Paper to the back side of the cut out on this panel. The Celebrations Specialty paper is actually acetate and two-sided – gold on one side and silver on the other. I have the silver confetti print showing on the front side of this card.

A 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ white and Lemon Lolly print from the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper Pack was chosen and this square panel was adhered to the front of a Misty Moonlight card base. I positioned the square so that it would line up with the white window panel when placed onto the card base. Once the star print paper was adhered to the front of the card base, I scooped out several generous pinches of Loose Silver Sequins onto the center of the designer series paper.

Foam Adhesive Strips were adhered to the back of the white window panel all along the perimeter of the square opening and I was careful to make sure that there were no gaps in the adhesive strips – you don’t want any sequins escaping from the shaker card! Additional adhesive strips were also applied along the top, bottom and sides of the window panel. The window panel was then adhered to the card front and pressed firmly into place.

Several stars were die cut using the Beautiful Balloons Dies in Misty Moonlight, Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist and adhered to the card front along with a bow in Lemon Lime Twist from the Ribbon Duo Combo Pack.

The small confetti image was stamped diagonally onto the inside panel using Misty Moonlight, Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist ink and an additional sentiment was added. The panel was then adhered to a Lemon Lime Twist mat and this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

The same confetti image was stamped onto the lower portion of the envelope front, and I adhered a piece of coordinating Designer Series Paper to the envelope flap. The excess paper was trimmed away from the flap to finish off the envelope.
