Inky Bee Stampers

Today’s card was created using the Bold Bouquet Bundle and paper from the Delightfully Eclectic 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper pack. I love the flower images from the Bold Bouquet Bundle and they are perfect for some ink blending using a Blender Pen.

Using a polka-dot print panel from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper, I stamped a sentiment onto the bottom of the panel using Early Espresso ink. This panel was then adhered to a mat in Early Espresso. I used a length of Lemon Lime Twist ribbon from the Ribb on Due Combo Pack and wrapped the ribbon around the panels and tied a bow. The ribbon was positioned around the top of the panels with the bow sitting to the right.

Several flowers and flower buds were stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock using Daffodil Delight ink. The stems and tops of the flower buds were colored with the dark shade of a Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blend. I dipped a Blender Pen in ink from a Pumpkin Pie stamp pad and proceeded to shade all of the petals on the stamped flowers. The flower buds were also slightly shaded with Pumpkin Pie ink. I like using a Blender Pen for shading flower images as you have more control on the amount of color applied to the images as opposed to using a Stampin’ Blend – especially on smaller images or sections of an image (such as these flower petals). The images were then die cut using coordinating dies from the Bold Bouquet Dies set. I also cut out two sets of leaves in Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.

The die cut images were arranged onto an Early Espresso circle cut out using the 2-3/8″ Circle Punch. Once I was happy with the arrangement of the flowers I adhere them to the circle using glue. The smallest flower was adhered using a combination of Stampin’ Blends and Mini Glue Dots. The circle arrangement was then adhered to the DSP panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I place the circle over top of the wrapped ribbon and centered from left to right. I then adhered the panel to a Lemon Lime Twist card base.

For the inside panel I stamped an additional sentiment in Early Espresso ink and the large flower image was stamped in Daffodil Delight ink, as well as a flower bud, onto the lower corner of the panel. I again used a Blender Pen to shade the flower petals with Pumpkin Pie ink and color the flower bud stem and top using a Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blend. The panel was adhered to an Early Espresso mat and then adhered to the inside of the card.

The large flower and flower buds were also stamped onto the envelope front and shaded using a Blender Pen. A coordinating piece of designer series paper was added to the envelope flap and the excess paper was trimmed away from the flap. I used the dark shade of a Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blend to color several Rhinestone Basic Jewels and these were added to the Early Espresso circle on the card front.
