Stampin’ Up! Changing Leaves Napkin Ring

I love setting a pretty table for the holidays but I could never bring myself to pay store prices for napkin rings! Why not make my own…so that’s what I did. I used the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder (which includes the Changing Leaves Dies) along with some Linen and Gold Twisted Thread. Now I just need to duplicate this a few more times so I have enough for my Thanksgiving table. This project took a matter of minutes, too!

I first cut a strip of Early Espresso cardstock to 6″ x 2″. I used the edge of my bone folder and ran it across the strip of cardstock to break down the paper fibers a bit so the cardstock would not crease when I formed it into a tube. I ran a few strips of Stampin’ Seal+ along one of the short ends and joined this to the opposite end of the strip to form a tube.

I then used a variety of dies from the Changing Leaves Dies to cut out some leaves from Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie cardstock. I also used the round sentiment label included in the die set to cut an Early Espresso circle. A maple leaf was die cut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock using the large die from the Changing Leaves Dies and the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder. You can read more about how to use the hybrid embossing folder in the linked pdf tutorial below.

The leaf arrangement sits on top of the die cut circle. I first added a few Woven Golden Leaves to the circle using Stampin’ Seal+, then I started layering the die cut leaves on top.

I cut two lengths of Linen Thread, and two lengths of Gold Twisted Thread to tie a bow. The bow was added at the base of the leaf arrangement using a Mini Glue Dot. That’s it! That is the project and so, so simple and easy and I’m loving the result!

  3. Oh my gosh! This is wonderful! I should really make some of these. They’d REALLY dress up my white paper napkins (we go all FANCY at T-day and don’t use paper towels for dinner!!), don’t you think?! I love them!
