Stampin’ Up! Snowy Wonder Matchstick Treat Box

I have a fun project for you today. A Matchstick Treat Box! This two-piece matchstick treat box was created using the Snowy Wonder Bundle and the Snowy Scenes 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper.  This box measures 3” x 4-5/8” x 1-1/8” and is a nice size for small gifts or treats.  I have included lots of photos as this project is easier to show than explain…but I’ll do my best!  The box folds are a CAS from a UK Demonstrator, Crafty Caroline (Caroline Helwigh). I have used a current bundle and designer series paper to update the box using current products.  Enjoy!

The Box Base measures 8-1/2″ x 7″ and is scored at 7/8″ and 2″ on all four sides. I used my Scoring Board to score this piece. The Box Sleeve measures 9-1/4″ x 4-5/8″ and is scored at 2-1/2″, 3-11/16″, 6-3/4″ and 7-7/8″. Don’t let the 1/16th measurements scare you. Just use your Stampin’ Up! Paper Cutter to score the Box Sleeve…easy peasy!

For the Box Base, I have included a diagram showing where to cut along the score lines and which pieces to cut away. A wedge was cut on all of the corner and side tabs to make assembly easier.

This is what the Box Base will look like once all the cuts have been made.

Tear & Tape was applied to the four corner tabs then I built the two corners on one side of the box, then the other side of the box.

Once the corners of the Box Base were built, I then applied Tear & Tape to the insides of the side flaps. I removed the Tear & Tape covers and folded each side flap inwards so that it adhered to each side of the box.

Tear & Tape was applied to the ends of the Box Sleeve then the sleeve was wrapped around the Box Base and secured.

You may notice a notch on the right side of the box in the photo above. I slipped my 2″ Circle Punch onto each side of the box and punched out small openings to make it easier to open the box.

Panels from the snowflake print from the Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper were cut and adhered to the top and two long sides of the box. I left the short ends of the box undecorated.

A 2″ circle was punched from Poppy Parade cardstock, and I used the Snowy Wonder Dies to cut out a pine tree and snowman from the Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper. The pine tree and snowman were adhered to the front of the circle, then the circle was adhered to the top center of the box using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock in Poppy Parade ink and I used a pair of paper snips to fussy cut the sentiment. The sentiment was adhered onto the bottom of the snowman using liquid glue. I wrapped a length of Silver & White Sheer Ribbon around the box and tied a bow. Three Iridescent Faceted Gems were added to the top of the box to finish up the project.

I love this adorable little box, and it is a nice size. I managed to get four fun-sized candy bars in this box!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project! I had a lot of fun creating it! For detailed instructions you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the link below.

Have a wonderful weekend!
