Stampin’ Up! Take a Bow Gift Packaging

I created a gift packaging idea for you today using the Take a Bow Bundle, Iconic Imagery Stamp Set and the Greetings of the Season Bundle. The Take a Bow Bundle, which includes the Take a Bow Designer Series Paper and the Take a Bow Die, creates easy to make bows. Combine this with a hand-stamped gift bag and hand-made gift tag to coordinate with your bow and you have a pretty way to package your gifts!

I started off by creating my bow. You will need two (2) sheets of 6″ x 6″ Take a Bow Designer Series Paper, and you will need to run the die through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine two times. Running the Take a Bow Die through two times will give you (6) large strips, (4) medium strips, and (2) small strips. You will only need one small strip for your bow so you can set aside the extra small strip.

For the small round strip, join the ends to form a ring. I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the bow strips together. Also important to note is that adhesive should be applied to the “right” side – or the side you would like to face outwards on your completed bow.

To form a bow section from a strip, you will apply Stampin’ Seal to one end, then bring the opposite end up and adhere the ends together so that the “right” sides of both ends are facing up. The ends are notched so they are easy to line up. Repeat for the remaining bow sections.

Use a 1/8″ hole punch to punch a hole into each joined end of the bow sections and the small ring section. Starting with the small ring section, place the prongs of a brad from the inside out. Next, you will add the four medium bow sections over the brad, then add the six large bow sections. Open the brad so that the prongs lay flat and adjust the bow sections as needed.

To make it easy to attach the finished bow to a package, I adhered a 1-1/4″ x 1-1/2″ piece of cardstock to the back of the bow – covering up the open prongs of the brad. I added two strips of Tear & Tape to the rectangle so the bow is ready to go!

Using the Iconic Imagery Stamp Set, I stamped the small pine tree image across the bottom of my gift bag.

I then created a coordinating gift tag using a piece of the Take a Bow Designer Series Paper, white cardstock, and the Greetings of the Season Bundle. Two 12″ lengths of Natural Tones Linen Thread and Real Red & White Baker’s Twine were looped through the tags.

This was a fun project, and I love that I can create gift packaging for any occasion just by changing up the designer series paper, sentiments and imagery! If you would like to recreate this project you can download, save and print the pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.
