Inky Bee Stampers

I have a really fun project for you today…holiday Corner Bookmarks! I can’t give credit to any particular person for this project as there are lots of demonstrators and crafters who make these bookmarks. This project is just too fun not to share, though! These little corner bookmarks make great stocking stuffers, little gifts for book club members, or maybe a birthday surprise!

I started off with a piece of designer series paper measuring 5″ x 3″. I used the scoring blade on my Paper Trimmer to score at 2-1/2″ on one side. Then I rotated the paper in my trimmer 90 degrees, then scored at 2-1/2″ again. Half of the 1/2″ section was trimmed away and tabs were cut out on each side of the remaining 1/2″ section. On the tabbed portion of the project, I folded up the lower corner of this section to form a triangle. The square on the right side was then folded over top of the triangle section, then the tab was adhered down to hold the bookmark together. Here is a simple diagram showing you the scorelines and cut outs.

The triangle portion of the bookmark faces up. I used the Stylish Shapes Dies to create backgrounds for the images on the bookmarks. Both the square and circle die cuts work great! Keep in mind that you will only adhere half of the square or circle to the triangle portion of the bookmark.

The bookmark above is a left-facing bookmark. You will need to determine which way your bookmark faces before you decorate the front of the bookmark.

If you are working with 6″ x 6″ designer series paper, you will be able to get two corner bookmarks from one sheet of paper! Just cut the 6″ x 6″ paper at 3″, then trim both pieces to 5″! And did I mention that these bookmarks work up quickly? They do!
