Stampin’ Up! Merry & Bright Christmas Card

Today’s card was created with the cheerful Merry & Bright Bundle and Merry Bold & Bright 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper! Who remembers the old-fashioned large Christmas lights? I do!

This card was quick to put together. I started off by adhering a panel of the Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper in a green and red tree pattern to a white mat. I wrapped a length of green ribbon from the Ribbon Duo Combo Pack around these panels two times then used a separate length of ribbon to tie a bow around the wrapped ribbon.

The large, rounded bulb image was stamped three times onto a scrap of white cardstock – once in Poppy Parade, Blueberry Bushel and Granny Apple Green. Once the bulb images were stamped, I then stamped the filament onto each bulb using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The images were then die cut using the coordinating dies. I also die cut the electric cord and the bases for the lights from Shaded Spruce cardstock. A base was adhered to each bulb, and I arranged the string of lights down the left side of the card front and adhered them down.

The sentiments “Have a” and “Christmas” were stamped onto a scrap piece of white cardstock in Poppy Parade ink, then fussy cut. The “Holly Jolly” sentiment was stamped onto a white sentiment label measuring 2-3/4″ x 3/4″in Poppy Parade ink, then matted to a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock. The sentiments were then adhered to the upper right of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside panel I stamped an additional sentiment in Poppy Parade ink then stamped a bulb and its electric cord onto the lower left of the panel. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

A Poppy Parade bulb was stamped onto the lower left of the envelope front and a piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and the excess paper was trimmed away from the flap. For a little extra shine, I traced around the bulbs on the card front with Wink of Stella and a single silver sparkle gem was adhered to the larger sentiment label.

The Merry & Bright Bundle is such a cute set! The paper in the Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper pack is upbeat, bright and has a modern feel. The reverse sides of these papers could be used for more than just Christmas cards, too…so it makes this paper pack a great value!
