Inky Bee Stampers

I created this fun holiday banner using the Joy of Noel Bundle (available from the Mini Catalog today – Item #161967). This banner measures approximately 18″ long from panel to panel, with an additional 12″ of twine on either end of the banner for hanging.

I started off by cutting and assembling the six panels. Each panel consists of 1-1/4″ Parakeet Party square, 1-3/4″ Cherry Cobbler square, 1-7/8″ Silver Foil square, and a 2-3/4″ Basic Black square. Next, I stamped and die cut the decorative elements for the banner. I stamped the NOEL sentiment from the Joy of Noel Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Basic White cardstock and die cut the image using the coordinating die from the Joy of Noel Dies set. Also on white cardstock, I stamped 4 holly leaves and 2 berry sprigs. The holly leaves were stamped in Granny Apple Green ink and the centers were colored using a Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blend. The berry sprigs were stamped in Pecan Pie ink and the berries were colored in with a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend. These images were die cut using the coordinating dies. I also die cut 4 pine boughs using the die from the Joy of Noel Dies set.

Each of the NOEL letters were adhered to a square unit and the pine boughs, holly and berry sprigs were adhered to the remaining two squares. I used a 1/4″ hole punch (non-Stampin’ Up! supply item) to punch two holes at the top of each square unit. For consistency, I first measured across the top of each square unit at 1″ and 1-3/4″ and made a light pencil mark so that the holes would appear consistent from square to square. Two small Black & White Gingham Ribbon bows were added to the end squares.

To finish off the banner I cut a piece of Threaded Twine to approximately 42″ and thread one end of the twine through the punched holes to complete the banner.

This banner would look fantastic displayed above a fireplace, on a window, tree or on your wall. And change the design up for other holidays such as Valentine’s Day or Easter. Change up the colors, too, to match your decor! The possibilities are endless! I hope you enjoyed this project for today. Let me know what you create…I would love to see your banners!
