Stampin’ Up! Seaside Bay Gatefold Panel Thank You Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop and I’m excited to see what my team members have created for the Hop today!

I used the beautiful Seaside Bay Bundle and the gorgeous By The Bay 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper to create my card for the Hop. This is a fun fold that was recently shared by my friend and team member, Mary with Stamps-N-Lingers, and Mary got the fun fold from Elaine Schader with Elaine’s Creations…so thanks to both of these ladies! It’s an awesome card layout!

We have a color challenge today and I used all five colors on my card – Petal Pink, Coastal Cabana, Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and Basic White.

I started with an 8″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock to create the card base. The diagram below shows the cut and score lines for this fun fold. The blue lines on the diagram indicate all of the score lines and the red lines indicate the cut lines.

From the By The Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack, I chose a Night of Navy clam shell patterned paper for the two panels on the card front. I cut two panels of the paper to 5-1/4″ x 1-3/4″ and adhered them to mats in Coastal Cabana. The panels were then adhered to the card front. For the inside of the card I chose a white and Balmy Blue print paper and cut two more panels measuring 5-1/4″ x 1-3/4″. I cut four small panels using the same pattern of designer series paper measuring 1-3/4″ x 1″ and all six panels were adhered to Coastal Cabana mats and then adhered to the inside of the card. This fun fold is a great way to show off pretty designer series paper!

I used the Layering Circles Dies to cut out a sentiment label in Basic White and a mat in Coastal Cabana. I used a sentiment from the Seaside Bay Stamp Set and stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink. Several images were cut out using the Seaside Bay Dies and these were arranged onto the sentiment label. A stamped and die cut crab in Balmy Blue was added to the label using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The left side of the circle sentiment label was adhered to the left front panel of the card.

An additional sentiment was stamped onto the inside panel using Night of Navy ink. I second generation stamped a seashell over this sentiment using Petal Pink ink and the sand image was stamped along the bottom of the panel. The panel was adhered to a mat in Coastal Cabana and then adhered to the inside of the card.

On the envelope front I stamped sand in Petal Pink and the crab in Balmy Blue. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap. Several Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls were added to the sentiment label on the card front.

Stampin’ Up! Seaside Bay Happy Birthday Card for Amy’s Inkin Krew Blog Hop

It’s time for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop! The theme this month is “Birthday” and we can interpret this any way that we’d like. I know you will see a lots of inspiration on the Hop today. Let’s go!

Before we get started, I would like to wish you all a HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! Wishing you a wonderful day filled with Love!

Since my husband’s birthday is just a few weeks away, my card for the Hop today was made especially for him. I used the Seaside Bay Bundle, By the Bay 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper, Best Family Ever Stamp Set, and the Something Fancy Dies to create this card.

Using a print in Balmy Blue and Mint Macaron from the By the Bay Designer Series Paper pack, I adhered a panel to a mat in Night of Navy. Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon was wrapped around the top of this panel and the panel was adhered to a card base in Mint Macaron.

The image of sand and seashells from the Seaside Bay Stamp Set was stamped onto the lower portion of the panel in Soft Suede. I then stamped a crab in Night of Navy ink onto a piece of white cardstock and die cut it with the coordinating die from the Seaside Bay Dies set. Several grasses were die cut from Mint Macaron and a silver clam shell was die cut using dies from the same set. These elements were arranged onto the card front and the crab was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, I used another panel from the same designer series paper as used for the front of the card and stamped the “happy birthday” sentiment in Night of Navy ink. The sand and seashell image were stamped on the lower portion of the panel in Soft Suede ink. I then adhered the panel to a mat in Night of Navy and adhered this unit to the inside of the card.

The same sand and seashell image was stamped onto the envelope front, and I adhered a coordinating piece of designer series paper to the envelope flap and trimmed around the flap to finish off the envelope. The card front was adorned with multiple Enamel Dot Essentials in Night of Navy.

I hope my husband likes his birthday card! We both enjoy visiting the ocean so I thought he might appreciate the theme of the card.

Stampin’ Up! Seaside Bay Thank You Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

It’s time for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop! The theme this month is “Celebrate” and we can interpret this any way that we’d like. I know you will see a lot of gorgeous creations from my team members in the Hop today!

I’m celebrating thoughtful people with my card today (actually one thoughtful person in particular)! I used the beautiful Seaside Bay Bundle and the By the Bay 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper to create this card (available on January 5th for customer orders).

Even though this is my first time using the Seaside Bay Bundle and By the Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper I can confidently say that this bundle and paper go to the top of my list as favorites! The images and the colors in the paper…gorgeous!

I selected a 6″ x 6″ piece of the By the Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper that looks like a shoreline, cut this down and added it to a Coastal Cabana mat, then added this to a Night of Navy card base.

Several die cuts were made using the Seaside Bay Dies. I die cut two large and one small grass from Mint Macaron cardstock and a small clam shell from Petal Pink cardstock. The image of the bird was die cut from a piece of paper from the By the Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper pack…how cool is it that there is a die to cut out this image! I also die cut the clam shell (which opens by the way) from Gold & Rose 6″ x 6″ Metallic Specialty Paper. The die that cuts this clam shell actually embosses a fold line in the shell, for easier folding, and etches a design on the top of the clam shell top. Hopefully you can see this detail in the image below.

Before adhering any of the components onto my card front, I first used the “sand” stamp from the Seaside Bay Stamp Set to second-generation stamp sand along the shoreline using Soft Suede ink. I then stamped the sentiment “You are a pearl rare and precious.” onto a piece of the By the Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper in a wood plank print, also in Soft Suede ink. I used the 3rd smallest die from the Layering Circles Dies to cut out the sentiment label and the label was adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed in the upper right-hand corner of the card front.

The two largest grasses were adhered to the card front on the left side, just at the shoreline and the bird was adhered just to the right of these larger grasses. The smaller beach grass was adhered to the right side of the scene at the shoreline and slightly overlaps the sentiment label previously adhered to the card front. The small Petal Pink shell was adhered on top of this smaller beach grass.

I wanted the gold clam shell to appear darker on the inside, so I die cut a second clam shell from Soft Suede cardstock and adhered this to the inside of the gold clam shell. I folded the shell at the score line created from the die and adhered the clam shell over top of the two larger sea grasses. Multiple small Flat Adhesive-backed Pearls were scattered along the shoreline and a larger Flat Adhesive-backed Pearl was adhered inside of the gold clam shell. Can you see it in the photo below? I also added a small bow from Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon to the card front.

For the inside panel, I used a blending brush to blend Balmy Blue ink across the top two thirds of the panel. When blending the blue ink, I left areas of white to indicate clouds in the sky. With a separate blending brush, I blended Soft Suede ink across the bottom third of the panel. The “sand” stamp was used to stamp sand across this section of Soft Suede to create the shoreline. The sentiment “Thank you for everything” was stamped in Soft Suede ink and the panel was adhered to a Coastal Cabana mat and this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

The image of the three shells and sand was stamped in Soft Suede ink onto the lower corner of the envelope front, and I used my blending brushes to lightly blend Soft Suede and Balmy Blue over this image. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and the excess paper was trimmed away from the flap to finish off the envelope.

This set reminds me of many days spent at the beach, enjoying the warm sun, watching the shore birds dart back and forth along the shoreline and listening to the ocean as the wave’s role in… good memories!
