Stampin’ Up! Best Witches Halloween Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop! Our theme this month is “Halloween Fun”. We can interpret this theme any way that we want. Our Krew has lots of talented team members participating this month so be sure to check out their Hop posts! You can find navigation links further down on this page.

I really miss when my sons were younger! They would get so excited to get dressed up in their costumes for Halloween and they were so cute! For our hop today I used the Best Witches Stamp Set (love the play on words!), the Layering Circles Dies, the Basic Borders Dies, and the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.

I started off by stamping the witch and frog in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The sentiment was stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink. The image of the witch was colored in using Stampin’ Blends in Petal Pink, Crumb Cake, Smokey Slate, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather, and Parakeet Party. Our witch is a redhead, and I even gave her a little eye shadow and eyelashes! She’s striking a pose after all! The cute little frog was colored in using Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends. I love the look on the frog’s face…comical!

The witch was cut out using a circle die from the Layering Circles Dies. The frog was fussy cut, and I used my paper trimmer to trim the sentiment to approximately 2-3/8″ x 1″.

While I had my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine out, I used the zigzag die from the Basic Borders Dies to die cut the edge of a Soft Suede panel measuring approximately 4-1/4″ x 4″. Once this panel was die cut, I ran the panel through my machine again using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. This panel was then adhered to a Parakeet Party card base towards the top of the card, and I left a 1/8″ reveal on the top, left and right.

The stamped circle of the witch was centered over the embossed panel on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The frog was adhered to the lower right of the circle.

The sentiment label was adhered to a Gorgeous Grape mat, then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment label was placed below the circle panel and overlaps the edge of the embossed panel.

I wrapped a length of Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon around the card base vertically and tied a knot. I then used two additional lengths of ribbon to tie a double bow then tied the bow to the single length of ribbon. The dark shade of a Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blend was used to color in 5 Rhinestone Basic Jewels, then the rhinestones were adhered to the card front. One was placed on the sentiment label and the other 4 jewels circle the witch’s head.

An additional sentiment was stamped on the inside panel . The frog was stamped in the lower right corner of this panel and colored in using Stampin’ Blends. Stars in Daffodil Delight were stamped around the frogs head. The frog also decorates the front of the envelope and stars were stamped across the envelope flap.

This completes my card for today. I had so much fun playing with this stamp set. The images are adorable!

Stampin’ Up! Celebrate Sunflowers Thank You Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “Fall Frenzy”. We can interpret this theme any way that we want. Our Krew has lots of talented team members participating this month so be sure to check out their Hop posts! You can find navigation links further down on this page.

Fall is my absolute favorite season of the year! To me Fall brings so many good memories and I love the crisp, cool air and all of the smells and color that come with Fall. When I was thinking about my card for today, I immediately thought of the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle. Sunflowers are glorious in the Summer but come Fall, they provide their bounty to feed the birds!

I started off with a card base in Basic Black and added a Crushed Curry embossed panel to the card front. I love the contrast between these two colors! I used the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder to emboss the Crushed Curry panel then took the panel to my paper trimmer to trim off the top right corner of the panel to reveal more of the black base.

Next, I die cut the sunflower outline in Daffodil Delight cardstock using the Sunflower Dies. I used blender brushes to darken the center of the sunflower using Soft Suede ink and blended a little Pumpkin Pie ink around the middle of the sunflower. The sunflower outline was then adhered to a black square panel cut from the Stylish Shapes Dies, then adhered to a Crushed Curry mat. The sunflower center was adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Several die sets were used to die cut some foliage and a tree branch. The Harvest Dies set was used to cut a tree branch in Soft Suede. The remaining foliage was die cut using the Sunflowers Dies and were die cut from Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler. A sunflower leaf and leaf outline were die cut using Granny Apple Green. The foliage and tree branch were cut into shorter sections. The matted sunflower was placed on the card front in the upper left corner and the foliage, tree branches and leaf were dry fitted to determine placement before adhering.

The sentiment was stamped onto Crushed Curry cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, then die cut using the largest banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I created a tassel from twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. Instructions for creating the tassel are included in the pdf tutorial which is linked below.

The tassel was first adhered to the top center of the card using Stampin’ Seal and adjusted as needed so that the tassel would not cover up the sentiment, although it does hang slightly over the sentiment label. The matted sunflower was then adhered to the card front in the upper left corner using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The foliage, tree branches and leaf were all tucked under the right side of the sunflower panel and glued into place. The sentiment label was added to the bottom center of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish off the card front I added multiple Amber gems from the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack. These amber gems are beautiful!

To finish off the card a white panel was added to the inside of the card with a strip of the embossed Crushed Curry cardstock adorning the bottom of the panel. The small sunflower image from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set was stamped in Memento ink onto the envelope front and envelope flap then colored in with Stampin’ Blends in Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Crumb Cake.

Ahhh, all of the glorious colors of Fall! This card makes me so happy!

Stampin’ Up! Blessings of Home Congratulations Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

The theme for today’s Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop is “celebrate summer” and what better way to celebrate summer than with flowers! What’s your favorite summer flower?

My card for today’s Hop was created using the Blessings of Home Stamp Set and the Flowers of Home Dies. The large image from the Blessings of Home stamp set is one of my favorites so I was excited to pull out this set for my card today! I also used the Deckled Rectangles Dies and the Eden’s Garden Stamp Set was used for the inside greeting. A piece of the Tea Boutique 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper was used on the envelope flap. Card details, including measurements, can be found on the project sheet which is linked towards the bottom of this post.

I started off with a card base in Sweet Sorbet – one of our new In Colors. I used the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Basic White cardstock. A piece of Sweet Sorbet Metallic Woven Ribbon was wrapped around the embossed panel twice vertically and the ribbon ends were adhered to the back of the embossed panel. This panel was then adhered to a Basic Black mat, then this unit was adhered to the card base.

The large flower bouquet image was used from the Blessings of Home stamp set and the image was stamped onto a piece of Basic White cardstock. The image was then colored in with an assortment of Stampin’ Blends. The image was then die cut using the coordinating Flowers of Home Dies. While die cutting, I also die cut several greenery sprigs from Basic White cardstock using the Flowers of Home Dies also. I stamped the sentiment “What a Beautiful Day” onto a piece of scrap white cardstock. The full sentiment reads “What a Beautiful Day for Love” but I used a piece of washi tape to block out the words “for Love”, inked the stamp, removed the Washi tape then stamped the sentiment. The sentiment was then die cut using the Deckled Rectangles Dies.

On a Basic White cardstock panel I stamped the smaller flower bouquet image from the Blessings of Home stamp set onto the lower right corner of the panel. I also stamped a greeting from the Eden’s Garden Stamp Set on this panel. The flower image was colored in using the same Stampin’ Blends colors that were used on the larger image. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card base. I stamped and colored this same image on the envelope front. A coordinating piece of paper from the Tea Boutique 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper was adhered to the envelope flap. I then fussy cut around the envelope flap to finish off the envelope.

The large die cut flower bouquet image was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed towards the upper left corner over top of the ribbon. The die cut greenery sprigs in white were tucked in on either side of the popped-up image to slightly overhang the embossed panel. I also popped up the sentiment label using Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed in the lower right corner. This completes my card for the blog hop!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful to celebrate summer! Okay, on with the hop! Click the button below to go to the Previous or Next blog.

Stampin’ Up! Fresh Cut Flowers for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

I’m excited to be participating in my very first Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop!

The theme for today’s Blog Hop is “Birthday”. My card for today’s Hop was created using the Fresh Cut Flowers stamp set, and the beautiful Perfectly Penciled 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper in classic black and white. I selected a sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set which is highlighted by an oval frame from the Fabulous Frames Dies. Card details, including measurements, can be found on the project sheet which is linked towards the bottom of this post.

I started off with a card base in Basic Black. I adhered a piece of the Perfectly Penciled paper in the polka dot pattern to a Basic White mat, then adhered this to the card front.

A second Basic White panel was used for stamping the flower image from the Fresh Cut Flowers stamp set. The four corners of the panel were cut to reveal more of the gorgeous designer series paper. The flower image was shaded using Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils in Basic Black and Basic Gray to provide a little dimension to the image. I then adhered this panel to the card front.

I stamped the Happy Birthday greeting from the Pansy Patch stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto a piece of Basic White cardstock. I used the oval frame die from the Fabulous Frames Dies to cut out the image. The oval was adhered directly to the stamped white panel, then Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to adhere the oval frame to the card front.

To finish off the card front a simple bow was tied using Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and adhered vertically to the oval frame. A straight line of Matte Black Dots runs diagonally across the stamped panel from the upper left to the lower right.

The inside card panel was stamped with an additional sentiment and the small flower image from the Fresh Cut Flowers stamp set adorns the lower right and upper left corners of the panel.

A coordinating piece of Perfectly Penciled DSP was added to the envelope flap and the small flower image was stamped on the lower right front of the envelope.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope I have inspired you to give this card a try. Okay, on with the hop! Click the button below to go to the Previous or Next blog.
