Cup of Tea Friendship Card / Sun Bathing Beauties

Cup of tea friendship card

Today’s card features products from the new Tea Boutique Suite Collection. This is the happiest stamp set ever – very uplifting!

I started off with a card base in Orchid Oasis (one of the new gorgeous In Colors) then adhered an embossed white panel to the card front. I then stamped and die cut several images using the Teacup Dies. These images were arranged on a square from the Tea Boutique 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I looped a piece of Orchid Oasis Metallic Woven Ribbon to the card front, then adhered the square over top of the ribbon. A sentiment label was added below the square and I added a few Opal Rounds to the card front. A little stamping on the inside card panel and the envelope completes the card.

Sun Bathing beauties

Maezie and Mackenzie fresh from their baths are drying in the sun – looking all squinty-eyed. They are incredibly white and soft after their baths, but they don’t stay clean for long! Squirrel and rabbit chasing takes its toll!

Multi-Layer Thinking of You Card / The New 2022-2023 Annual Catalog is Open for Orders!

Multi-Layer Thinking of You card

Even though only two colors were used on the card – Crumb Cake and Blackberry Bliss – there are lots of details for the viewers eyes to take in.  Any two complimentary colors would be stunning on this card design.  What color combinations would you use?

I used the Quiet Meadow stamp set and Meadow Dies, in addition to one stamp from Eden’s Garden on this card. All of these products are available in the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog! Quiet Meadow is one of my favorite, favorite sets and Blackberry Bliss is one of my favorite colors…it’s a win-win!

The card has a total of four layered panels on the card front. 1st and 2nd-generation stamping was used on two of those layers to create a custom background. A few die cuts from the Meadows Dies and a sentiment label and some linen thread complete the card.

He’s The Man Father’s Day Card / Hope Box Kits – Update / May is a Great Time to Join as a Demonstrator!

He’s the man Father’s Day Card

Do you struggle to find suitable stamps, dies and paper for the guys in your life when cardmaking? Look no further! Check out the He’s The Man Suite Collection. Today’s card is made from this suite of products, and I love how it turned out! The He’s The Man paper also includes two sheets of die cut punch out pieces to add an extra something to your cards.

This card sits on a Very Vanilla card base, and I used a piece of the DSP on the card front. I also used several of the die cut punch out pieces for the front of the card – going with a BBQ theme. The All That Dies include several sentiment labels to use along with the coordinating stamps as well. The card was finished off with several of the Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots.

You can find the He’s The Man Suite in the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog which will be open for customer orders beginning tomorrow!

Hope Box Cards

A few weeks ago, I let you know about a special offer on the Hope Box Paper Pumpkin kit. Stampin’ Up! is offering a discounted price on the Hope Box Paper Pumpkin kit and refill in honor of National Month of Hope.

When I shared the Hope Box information with you, I pledged to purchase two Hope Boxes, assemble the cards and donate them to a local hospital for the chronically ill. Below is a photo of my completed cards. The cards will be sent to the hospital for distribution to some of the residents there. Most of the residents at this hospital have no family to visit them. Me and a group of friends create cards each month and send them to the hospital and the residents greatly look forward to receiving a card each month. It lets them know there is someone who cares! We’ve been sending cards to the hospital for over a year now and it’s still a rewarding activity. I’m so happy that I can share my cards of hope with them!

If you would like to order a Hope Box kit or two all of the details are below. Kits come with everything you need to complete the cards, including adhesives and embellishments. The kits are available to everyone for a special limited time discount. The offer runs through June 14, 2022. I encourage you to order a kit or two and share the message of hope!  Here are the details:

  • Offer available while supplies last between April 12 and June 14, 2022.
  • Special exception: a Paper Pumpkin subscription is not required.
  • 50% discount on single kits.  Regularly $19.00.  Discounted price $9.50.
Item 158541 Hope Box Past Kit
  • 50% discount on refills.  Regularly $10.00.  Discounted price $5.00 USD (Note: Ribbon not included in refill.)  Item 159345 Hope Box Refill Kit

Friday Fun Day! Greeting Card Gift Box with Bonus Cards!

Greeting card gift box with bonus cards!

Happy Friday everyone! I’m super excited to share today’s projects with you! Yes, plural…as in two projects!

It’s Friday Fun Day!  Today’s project is a lovely gift box.  But not just any gift box.  This box contains a bonus project!  Inside the box is a set of 6 cards and envelopes ready for gifting.  This gift box set would make a fantastic gift for anyone that likes to send cards or would make a fantastic Mother’s Day gift.  All the recipient has to do is add their personal message, address the envelope and mail!  Included are Thinking of You cards, a Birthday card, and a Thank You card.  The cards are color coordinated with their envelopes (the inside of the cards are decorated, too!) and contain two each of three colors – Gray Granite, Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral.

I chose to highlight the Happiness Abounds Suite of products for the gift box and the Sun Prints Suite for the greeting cards, in addition to the Pretty Prints DSP but you can coordinate the box with the cards from a single suite of products if you would like.  Did you know that the new Pretty Prints DSP coordinates with the Sun Prints Suite?  I absolutely love both of these suites and wanted to share them with you!

The Happiness Abounds Suite, Sun Prints Suite and the Pretty Prints Designer Series Paper will be available for ordering next week, May 3. I’m so excited for you to see these products for yourself. You’re going to fall in love with all the new goodies. I sure have!

You can access today’s project sheet, along with the bonus project instructions, by clicking on the icon below.

Wishing you a wonderful day and enjoyable weekend! I think I need to get moving on garden projects this weekend…our grow season starts in two weeks! What are you getting into this weekend?

Songbirds in the Wild! / The Westies…Mom’s Little Helpers

Songbirds in the Wild!

I’m calling this card “Songbirds in the Wild” because of the wild background! As mentioned earlier in the week, I tried two different techniques on vellum – an ink blending technique, and on today’s card a rubbing alcohol technique. What do you think?

I used all five of the new 2022-2024 In Colors on this vellum background to highlight these colors, so the result is a very intense looking background. When debating how to design around this background, the only answer was to use the Sweet Songbirds bundle to tame the wild! I rather like all of the bright, cheerful colors.

The vellum background has somewhat of a bokeh effect and was created by using Stampin’ Blend markers (which are alcohol markers) to scribble color onto the vellum surface. Using a small watercolor brush, drops of rubbing alcohol were dripped onto the surface to create the blending and spreading of colors. I’m looking forward to trying this technique out again in more muted colors. I’m thinking you can get some really lovely results!

To learn more about this technique and to view, download or print instructions for this card, click on the icon below.

Have a wonderful day – bee happy!

Carol

The Westies…Mom’s Little Helpers

I had a request to share photos of our two Westies – Maezie and Mackenzie. These are for you, Faith!

Maezie is our youngest Westie and quite mischievous! Mackenzie is a little on the shy side. Both are very loveable and rule the household!

Here’s Maezie…look at that face!

And here’s the two of them…Mom’s little helpers! Mackenzie is on the left and Maezie is on the right. What characters!

Double Box Fancy Fold Card / The New Annual Catalog Sales Period Begins on May 3 and Last Chance & Retiring Items!

double box fancy fold card

This double box fancy fold card really caught my eye! This is a CAS card from blogger Gail Ellis at Blue Rose Paper Treasures.  I have linked to Gail’s original blog post on my linked project sheet below. The card consists of two box card bases and I used the Nature’s Prints and Honeybee Home bundles along with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder to create the card. The Honeybee Home bundle is available now for ordering and the Nature’s Prints Suite (which includes the Fern 3D Embossing Folder) will be available for customer orders next week – beginning May 3!

I really enjoyed creating this card and the embossed panels and floral images are just beautiful! You can view, download and print the project sheet for this card by clicking on the icon below. I hope you enjoy recreating this card as much as I did!

Botanical Layers on Vellum / Use the April Host Code for a Gift from Me

botanical layers on vellum

I don’t usually work with vellum, so I created two vellum panels using different techniques to see what I could come up with. I shared the two panels recently on my Facebook Page to ask viewers which panel they preferred. The replies were a mixed result. I’m using the blended ink panel today in my project and you’ll see the other vellum panel later in the week (it’s wild!).

After creating the ink blended vellum panel, I stamped directly onto the panel using images from the Botanical Layers stamp set…with surprising results! I was impressed with how the Parakeet Party ink popped on the blended panel! I’m not sure if you can get a good look from the photo, but the result was really interesting looking…in a good way.

What do you see when you look at the above image? Do you see a garden at night, or do you see an underwater scene? I was going for the garden look but when I showed the card to my husband he saw an underwater scene. As they say, “it’s all in the eye of the beholder.”

Most of the products used to make this card will be available for customer orders beginning on May 3, 2022…yay! To view, download or print a copy of the project sheet for this card, click on the icon below.

Happiness Abounds Mother’s Day Card / Last Chance & Retiring Products Sale on Now…Last Week!

Happiness Abounds Mother’s Day Card

The beautiful roses on this card, as well as the background DSP come from the Hues of Happiness 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. The dies from the Happiness Abounds Bundle include dies that will cut out the rose and leaf images on the DSP! How cool is that?

I chose Starry Sky, Coastal Cabana, Pool Party and white as the colors for today’s card. The “B” side of the DSP from the Hues of Happiness papers are equally beautiful, and I used one of the “B” sides of the paper on my card front. I also used the largest dies from the Blossoming Happiness Dies to cut out a floral pattern on the white panel on the card front, allowing the DSP to show through. It’s subtle, but I think it adds a lot to the look of this card.

The Hues of Happiness Suite Collection (Happiness Abounds stamp set, Blossoming Happiness dies, Hues of Happiness DSP and the Glossy Dots Assortment) are available for customer orders beginning on May 3, 2020! That’s only a week away…yay!

Why are Paper Pumpkin Kits Such a Great Option? / Free Shipping Today! / Celebrating the New In Colors in May’s Paper Pumpkin Kit!

I did not create a card for today…but I did make some cards to share with you…Paper Pumpkin kit cards! Read on for the details!

You might be curious about Paper Pumpkin, which is the monthly kit subscription by Stampin’ Up!. I love creating and inspiring others but sometimes it’s nice to be able to sit down and create something beautiful where all of the guess work has been removed. This is where Paper Pumpkin kits excel! Here are my reasons why I think a Paper Pumpkin subscription is such a great option:

  • Paper Pumpkin kits come with everything you need to create multiple projects in a short amount of time and step by step instructions are included with each kit. The kits vary from month to month. One month a kit may contain cards and other months a project, such as treat bags or boxes.
  • You can subscribe to Paper Pumpkin on a month-to-month basis, or subscribe for 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months. You control your subscription and if you wish to suspend or restart your subscription you have the ability to do that.
  • Paper Pumpkin kits arrive around the 20th of each month so there is always something to look forward to!
  • If you like to get together with friends to craft Paper Pumpkin kits are great for sharing!

I recently received my April Paper Pumpkin kit. Here is a look at the contents of the April Paper Pumpkin kit that I received.

April’s kit contained everything I needed to make three each of three different designed cards with card bases, coordinating envelopes, die cut images, a Stampin’ Spot (ink), a stamp set, and Stampin’ Dimensionals. The first kit you receive from Paper Pumpkin will contain a stamp block and you’ll save this block to use on future kits. You have the choice of completing the cards as per the instructions, or you can get creative and change the card design or project up a little. the choice is yours.

Following the instructions in the April Paper Pumpkin kit, I was able to complete all nine cards in under an hour. April’s kit is “Change is Beautiful” and the cards would be great for anyone going through change – a student graduating from high school or college, or maybe for someone starting a new job. The images are colorful and beautiful, and I now have nine cards ready to send out when needed.

Here’s a photo of each of the three completed card designs.

That’s it in a nutshell. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about Paper Pumpkin…I’d love to chat with you! You can reach me via email at inkybeestampers@gmail.com. If you think you’d like to get started with a Paper Pumpkin subscription, click on the image below to sign up.
