Stampin’ Up! Best Butterflies Any Occasion Card

Happy Friday! This cheerful Any Occasion card was created using the Best Butterflies Bundle (stamps and dies), the Hive 3D Embossing Folder and the Dandy Designs 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. You can earn the Hive 3D Embossing Folder and the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper for free during Sale-a-bration with a qualifying order(s).

I started off by embossing a white panel using the Hive 3D Embossing Folder. A length of Glittered Organdy Ribbon was wrapped around the bottom of the panel and the ends were secured to the back of the card using small pieces of Tear & Tape. The embossed panel was then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the Best Butterflies Stamp Set, I stamped a sentiment onto a white piece of cardstock measuring 3-1/4″ x 3/4″ using Fresh Freesia ink and this sentiment label was adhered to the upper left of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Four (4) butterflies were die cut using the small butterfly die from the Build a Butterfly Dies set. I selected three different patterns from the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper pack for die cutting – one pattern in Balmy Blue, one in Fresh Freesia and one in Coastal Cabana…so pretty! I brushed the die cut butterflies with Wink of Stella to give them a little sparkle. Three of the butterflies were adhered to the card front diagonally from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. The butterfly on the left slightly overlaps the sentiment label and the butterfly on the right sits on top of the ribbon strip.

A small bow was tied using the Glittered Organdy Ribbon and adhered on top of the ribbon strip using a Mini Glue Dot.

The fourth die cut butterfly was adhered to the inside panel. This panel was then matted to a piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock and this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

To finish the card I adhered several Opal Rounds to the card front. A piece of coordinating Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap.

I hope you enjoyed my card for today! Apologies for the photos…it is difficult to photograph sparkle and white…and I’m not a professional photographer! Suffice to say this is a cheerful card that will bring a smile to the recipient’s face!

Stampin’ Up! Petal Park Gatefold Thank You Card with Belly Band for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and it is time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Are you ready to hop around and see some great projects?

I created my card for today using the Petal Park Bundle (stamps and punch), the Regency Park 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, the Around the Bend Stamp Set, and the Something Fancy Dies.

We have a sketch challenge for today’s Hop…and here it is.

I started off with a card base in Night of Navy measuring 11″ x 4-1/4″. The card base was scored at 2-3/4″ and 8-1/4″ on the long side.

Two patterned papers from the Regency Park 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack were chosen – one in a Petal Pink and Night of Navy stripe and the other a Night of Navy dotted pattern. The striped paper was cut to the finished card size of 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and the dotted paper was cut to 5-1/2″ x 2-3/4″. The dotted paper was adhered to the striped paper and centered top to bottom. On the long side, the paper was cut in half at 2-3/4″, creating two separate panels. These panels were adhered to the right and left of the card front.

The inside panel was stamped with a sentiment from the Around the Bend Stamp Set in Night of Navy ink. I also used the large, detailed stamps for the leaves and flowers from the Petal Park Stamp Set. These images were stamped in Night of Navy ink in the lower left of the inside panel. I used Stampin’ Blends in Petal Pink, Balmy Blue and Sweet Sorbet to color in the flowers. The largest flower was colored in with Mango Melody ink using a Blender Pen. The panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

A sentiment label was die cut using the smallest rectangle die from the Something Fancy Dies set in Petal Pink cardstock. A sentiment from the Around the Bend Stamp Set was stamped onto the label. A mat was cut using the medium-sized rectangular die from the Something Fancy Dies set in Balmy Blue and the sentiment label was adhered to this mat.

The Petal Park Builder Punch will punch out flowers and a leaf from the Regency Park Designer Series Paper. I punched out several flowers from this paper using the punch.

I used an 11″ x 1-1/4″ strip of Night of Navy cardstock for the belly band. To assist in folding the ends of the belly band around the card front, I scored the band on the long side once at 2-3/4″. The card was placed on top of the belly band, and I wrapped the ends of the band around each side of the card. Because the total width of the card is 11″ and the belly band is 11″ wide, this leaves a small gap. I used a small piece of Night of Navy cardstock to “bridge” the ends of the belly band together using liquid glue and made sure I could easily move the band across the card before allowing the glue to fully set. This small piece of cardstock, or bridge, will be hidden by the sentiment label.

Now on to decorating the belly band! I adhered the matted sentiment label to the belly band using Stampin’ Dimensionals and positioned the label slightly right of center of the card. I then dry fit the punched flowers to the left of the sentiment label. Once I was happy with placement I glued the two small and one medium sized flower into place on the belly band. The largest Mango Melody flower was adhered to the belly band using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I placed Night of Navy Adhesive-backed Milky Dots on the centers of the two small and one medium sized flower, and one dot was placed on the sentiment label. A Mango Melody Dot was placed in the center of the large flower. I used a short length of Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon and tied a knot. The ends of the ribbon were trimmed down and the knot was adhered to the top right of the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot.

I used the same large, detailed leaf and flower stamps and stamped these images partially onto the envelope front in Night of Navy ink and then colored in the leaves and flowers. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap, and I trimmed the excess paper away to finish off the envelope.

I hope you enjoyed reading how I created my card for today’s Hop! I love how this gatefold card turned out using the Petal Park images and the Regency Park Designer Series Paper and, well, belly bands are just plain fun!

Stampin’ Up! Decorative Borders Embossed Friendship Card

The images in the Decorative Borders Stamp Set are stunning using gold embossing powder!  It can be difficult to capture metallic embossing when photographing, so I had to lay my card down on my work surface in order to capture the gold shine of the embossing.  How beautiful!  Even the inside of the card and the envelope are embossed!  Some light ink blending was added over the embossed areas to add a little something extra!  I used the Layering Circles Dies to die cut my sentiment label and the sentiment came from the Sentimental Park Stamp Set

I used the floral corner stamp from the Decorative Borders Stamp Set to stamp this image in the lower right and upper left of the front panel in VersaMark ink then sprinkled gold embossing powder over the stamped images and heat set using my Heat Tool. I then used a blending brush and very lightly blended Rich Razzleberry ink over the embossed areas. The panel was then adhered to a Rich Razzleberry mat and this unit was adhered to the card front.

I stamped a sentiment from the Sentimental Park Stamp Set onto a die cut white circle using Rich Razzleberry ink and used a blending brush to blend the same ink color around the perimeter of the circle. The circle was then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A bow in gold Simply Elegant Trim was added to the top of the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot.

An additional sentiment from the Sentimental Park Stamp Set was added to the inside panel and was stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink. I used the coordinating, small floral stamp from the Decorative Borders Stamp Set and stamped this in VersaMark ink and embossed with gold as I did the front of the card. The envelope flap was also stamped using this same stamp and embossed in gold.

Multiple gold Festive Pearls were added to the card front to finish off the card. The Decorative Borders Stamps Set is perfect for heat embossing, and I think these images would look stunning on black cardstock as well!

If you would like to recreate this card you can grab a pdf tutorial by clicking on the image below.

Stampin’ Up! Lucky Clover St. Patrick’s Day Card

I’m part Irish and so I had to make a St. Patrick’s Day card! I have good news and bad news, though. The bad news first…the Lucky Clover Punch is sold out! The good news is that the Lucky Clover Stamp Set is still available, and the stamped clover leaf is super easy to fussy cut so you can still make those St. Patrick’s Day cards for your Irish friends and family members!

I started off with a card base in Garden Green cardstock and used the medium clover stamp to stamp all over the front of the card base using Garden Green ink. I made sure to turn the stamp so the clover would not be falling in the same direction, and I did my best to evenly space out the stamped images.

I used a print in Garden Green from the Dandy Designs 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper pack that measures 5-1/2″ x 2-3/8″ and matted this strip of DSP to a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock measuring 5-1/2″ x 2-1/2″. This strip was then adhered to the card front with the left edge of the strip sitting approximately a 1/2″ from the left edge of the card base.

The large clover image was stamped in Garden Green ink onto a scrap piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock and I fussy cut around the image…easy, peasy!

I used the Something Fancy Dies (my new favorite sentiment label dies!) to cut out two small tags – one in Basic White and one in Granny Apple Green. The sentiment “Sending Luck & Love” was stamped onto the Granny Apple Green tag. The two tags were adhered together using liquid glue so that the tag holes were lined up, but the white tag is showing from underneath the green tag. A length of Garden Green twine from the Three Twine Combo Pack was used to tie a bow through the tag holes. The tag was then adhered to the top of the card front at an angle using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The fussy cut clover was adhered to the card front below the sentiment label using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” in Garden Green ink and stamped two of the medium size clovers in Granny Apple Green ink – one on each side of the stamped sentiment. A narrow strip of coordinating designer series paper was adhered across the bottom of the inside panel and the panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

The same medium sized clover was stamped onto the lower left front of the envelope using Granny Apple Green ink and a piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap to finish up the envelope.

I love how this card turned out and I enjoyed creating it! It’s sad that the punch is no longer available but don’t let that stop you from creating your own fun St. Patrick’s Day cards!

Stampin’ Up! Scenic Garden Watercolor Thinking of You Card

Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed a nice weekend! The images from the Scenic Garden Stamp Set just beg to be colored or water colored! I went with the watercolor option for today’s card. The sentiment is from the Sending Support Stamp Set.

I started with a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper measuring 5″ x 3-3/4″. The image was stamped in Smoky Slate ink. Smoky Slate is a nice light gray ink that is easily covered by other colors for a “no line” finish.

I used Smoky Slate, Gray Granite, Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Balmy Blue for my watercolor palette. The bench, cobblestones and flowers were painted in before the ground and sky and each area water colored was allowed to fully dry before moving on to the next section.

The watercolor panel was adhered to a mat in Rich Razzleberry then I wrapped Linen Thread horizontally around the panel twice, securing the ends to the back of the panel using Stampin’ Seal. The panel was then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A sentiment was stamped onto a 2-1/2″ x 1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and adhered to a Rich Razzleberry mat, then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment label was adhered over and slightly above the linen thread wrap. A double bow was tied using linen thread and adhered to the left of the sentiment label using a Mini Glue Dot.

On the inside panel and the envelope front, the tall flower image from the Scenic Garden Stamp Set was stamped in Smoky Slate ink, then water colored using Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive inks. The inside panel was adhered to a mat in Rich Razzleberry then adhered to the inside of the card.

It is possible to watercolor on cardstock and even envelopes! It’s just a matter of controlling the amount of water in your brush. Of course, using a really tiny brush helps, too!

Detailed instructions are included on the pdf tutorial. Click on the image below for the tutorial.

Stampin’ Up! Silly Goose Birthday Card

Happy Friday! The Silly Goose Stamp Set makes for some adorable and fun cards and covers everything from birthdays, thank you cards, friendship cards, thinking of you cards and cards of encouragement!  This stamp set is one of six stamp sets that can be ordered in either Cling or Photopolymer from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog! When ordering, be sure to double check that you’re ordering the type of stamps that you want!

I started off by stamping the goose holding the balloon onto a piece of white cardstock. The image was colored in using Stampin’ Blends and then die cut using the Deckled Rectangle Dies. A larger Deckled Rectangle Die was used to cut out a piece of the Sweet Sorbet Country Gingham Designer Series Paper. The designer series paper was adhered to a mat in Sweet Sorbet, then this unit was adhered to the So Saffron card front.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals the goose panel was adhered over top of the designer series paper at an angle. The sentiment label was also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed underneath the gingham panel. A double bow was tied using the 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine in Sweet Sorbet and the bow was adhered to the upper left corner of the white angled panel. I also adhered several Opaque Adhesive-backed Gems to the card front.

On the inside panel I stamped an additional sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the image of the two geese fist bumping onto the lower portion of the panel. The geese were colored in using the same Stampin’ Blend colors as the panel on the front of the card. The inside panel was adhered to a mat in Sweet Sorbet and this unit was adhered to the inside of the card.

The image of the goose holding the balloon was stamped onto the lower right corner of the envelope front and colored in with Stampin’ Blends. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and I trimmed the excess paper away from the flap to finish off the envelope.

Stampin’ Up! Two-Tone Flora Valentine’s Day Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and you know what that means…it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Are you ready to hop around and see some great projects?

I created my card for today using the Two-Tone Flora Bundle, and the Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.

We have a theme challenge for today’s Hop. The theme is “Love”! What says “Love” more than a Valentine’s Day card!

If you’re hopping over from Terry Lynn’s blog…thanks for stopping by!

I started off with a card base in Night of Navy. This is a top fold card. I used the large, intricate die from the Two-Tone Flora Dies set to cut a piece of the Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper in an all-over Balmy Blue, Orchid Oasis, and Pool Party pattern. This panel was cut to 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8 and the die was centered over the panel. I love the variegated look once this panel was die cut! The panel was then adhered to the front of the card base.

Using the leaf image from the Two-Tone Flora Stamp Set, I stamped the image twice onto a scrap piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock then used the coordinating dies from the Two-Tone Flora Dies set to cut the images out. On a scrap piece of white cardstock, I used the two-step stamps for the largest flower image and stamped the detailed image in Orchid Oasis ink and the filler image using Pool Party ink. I then used the coordinating die from the Two-Tone Flora Stamp Set to cut out this image.

Using additional pieces of white cardstock, I used the Layering Circles Dies to cut out two circles – one using the 2nd to smallest circle die and one using the 2nd to largest circle die. The sentiment “With Love” was stamped onto the smallest circle. The die cut flower and leaf sprigs were arranged on the larger circle. Both circle units were arranged onto the card front. The flower image was placed on the lower left of the card and the sentiment to the upper right.

Using the Country Bouquet Stamp Set, I stamped the sentiment “Happy Valentine’s Day” onto the inside panel using Orchid Oasis ink. The two-step large flower was stamped onto the lower left corner of this panel – again, using Orchid Oasis and Pool Party inks. I then stamped just the background image for the flower onto a Post It Note, then fussy cut around the background image to create a mask. I then placed the mask onto the stamped flower on the panel and stamped the leaf image in Orchid Oasis ink on each side of the flower. The mask was removed, and I adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

Two short lengths of Pool Party Grosgrain Ribbon were tied together to form a knot. I then trimmed the ribbon ends laying on top shorter than those below and all ribbon ends were trimmed at an angle. The ribbon was adhered to the card front using a Mini Glue Dot and placed just below the flower. An Orchid Oasis Stampin’ Blend was used to color several Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the rhinestones were placed around the card front.

Stampin’ Up! Playing In the Rain Treat Pouch

I used the Playing In The Rain Bundle and the Rain or Shine 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper to create this cute and fun treat pouch.  This is a great gift idea for Valentine’s Day (use Valentine themed paper and images) or create this project for an Easter treat!  The bunny from the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper, featured on this project, is perfect for Easter!

The pouch is large enough to hold a handful of Hershey Kisses, jellybeans or your choice of sweets!  The finished size of the pouch is 2″ x 2″ x 4″ and has a ribbon closure.  This project works up quickly and your biggest challenge will be deciding on the paper you will use and how you’ll decorate it!

All of the measurements and detailed instructions are included on the downloadable pdf tutorial (linked below), but here are the basics.

I started with a piece of the Rain or Shine 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper and cut it down to 6″ x 10-1/2″. If the paper you’ll be using is directional then you will want to have the scene or pattern run along the long side of the paper. Likewise, you’ll need to be careful where you score so be sure to read the instructions before proceeding.

The necessary score lines were made using my paper trimmer and I cut along the vertical score lines to create the box bottom tabs and the tab was created but cutting out the small rectangle created by the intersecting score lines. Tear & Tape was applied to the tab of the pouch and I joined the ends together to form a tube.

Holding the pouch upright, I located the joining seam, then folded the bottom side flaps closed and secured these together with liquid glue. I then closed the front and back bottom flaps and also secured these together with glue.

Holding the pouch with both hands along the top of the pouch, I gently pushed in each side of the pouch and pinched the sides closed while making sure that the top edges of the pouch were in line with each other. I then located the center of the pouch about 1/4″ from the top and used a hole punch to punch through the layers. Balmy Blue & White Variegated Ribbon and white twine were threaded through the punched holes and I tied each of these into a bow to close the pouch. Don’t forget to fill your pouch with treats first, though!

Using the Playing In The Rain Dies, I cut out one of the bunny images from the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper. The bunny was adhered to the front of the pouch using Stampin’ Dimensionals. From the Playing In The Rain Stamp Set, I stamped the “Oh, Happy Day” sentiment onto a piece of scrap white cardstock in Mango Melody ink and used the 2nd to smallest circle die from the Layering Circles Dies set to cut out the sentiment label. The sentiment label was also adhered to the pouch front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

How sweet is this adorable little treat pouch? You can change up the paper and decorations to suit any occasion. And, you can create a card using the same suite of products to coordinate with your gift!

Stampin’ Up! Key to my Heart January Paper Pumpkin Cards

I’m continuing with the Valentine theme today with nine cards completed from the January 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Key To My Heart!

As you can see, Paper Pumpkin kits come with everything that you need to complete the project – card bases, envelopes, ink, stamps, adhesives embellishments and card components! Paper Pumpkin kits are a great option for avid crafters, people with busy schedules, parents (create with the kids!), and new crafters! This particular kit created a total of nine cards – 3 of each of 3 different designs.

The Key To My Heart Kit also included some vellum and gold components! It took me about an hour to complete all 9 cards.

You can choose to complete the kit as directed (every kit comes with assembly instructions) or put your own spin on things and mix things up a bit and assemble the cards as you’d like!

And here are all nine completed cards!

A Paper Pumpkin subscription is such a great option. You can subscribe to Paper Pumpkin on a month-to-month basis, or purchase a 3-month, 6-month or 12-month subscription. You can expect your kit to arrive around the 20th of eacc month. Kits provide great variety – sometimes cards and sometimes treat boxes or some other goodies!

I love receiving my Paper Pumpkin subscription in the mail…it’s like opening a little surprise each month! Read on to learn about the February Paper Pumpkin Kit.
