Stampin’ Up! Queen Bee Standing Pop Up Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Be sure to hop around to all of the blogs in the Hop today for some great inspiration!

I created my card for today using the Queen Bee Bundle and some pretty paper from the 2021-2023 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack…and I have a fun fold for today! This fold is a CASE from Jeanne Moss with Bluegrass Stamper.

We have a fun theme challenge for today…here it is…

I have entered this card in the Double Trouble Paper Crafting Challenge #132 – “Hoodie-Hoo Celebration” with Creative Creases 2nd Anniversary. Be sure to visit the Double Trouble Paper Crafting page by clicking on the link above or the image below to check it out!

I have also entered this card in the Creative Creases Challenge #51. Click on the link or the image below to visit Creative Creases! Creative Creases is celebrating its 2nd Anniversary! Congratulations!

I started off by assembling the card base. All of the score lines on the card base were burnished with a bone folder. All of the folds are mountain folds which form a tube at the base of the card. The base was folded at the 5″ and 1-3/4″ lines and the 1/2″ tab was adhered down.

The pop up panel was then adhered to the card base. The pop up panel was folded at the 1-3/4″ score line and this fold was lined up with the top of the card base. The 1/2 tab was then adhered to the card base.

To finish attaching the pop up panel to the card base, I folded the tube on the card base forward until flat, then adhered the bottom of the pop up panel to the folded tube section.

Pale Papaya panels from the 2021-2023 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack were added to the two sections of the card base front and the one panel of the pop up panel.

The bee and two sentiments were stamped onto Basic White cardstock. The sentiments were individually cut using the label die in the Queen Bee Dies set and the bee was colored in using Stampin’ Blends in Pale Papaya, Old Olive and Sweet Sorbet (the bee’s heart), then die cut using the coordinating die.

From white cardstock, I die cut multiples of the large and small flowers as well as several leaf sprigs and one large leaf sprig. These die cut elements were colored with Stampin’ Blends. A large flower was adhered to the center of the large leaf spray and this was adhered to the bottom of the pop up panel. Stampin’ Seal was used to adhere two short lengths of Early Espresso Faux Suede Ribbon just above the large leaf sprig, then the bee was adhered to the pop up panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment labels were adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and the remainder of the flowers and leaf sprigs were used to decorate the front of the card.

For the back panel, I stamped the large floral image from the Queen Bee Stamp Set in Early Espresso ink and used Pale Papaya and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends to color in the image. The same image was stamped onto the envelope front and colored in using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A piece of coordinating designer series paper was adhered to the envelope flap and the excess paper was trimmed away from the flap. Multiple Iridescent Pastel Gems were added to the card front to complete the card!
