Stampin’ Up! Let’s Set Sail Adventure Card

Happy Monday! Cardmaking designs don’t always have to be elaborate or complicated! Today’s card uses a minimal number of supplies and came together quickly. I used the Let’s Set Sail Bundle (Let’s Set Sale Stamp Set and the Sailboat Builder Punch) from the Annual Catalog) and the By The Bay 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper.

The By The Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper pack has so many lovely prints…I chose a print that shows a scene of a sky, shoreline and water. This panel was trimmed down to 5-1/4″ x 4″ and I made sure that all three components – sky-shore-sea – were included in the trimmed panel. I then stamped birds in the sky using Night of Navy ink and a sentiment was stamped directly onto the panel in the upper right corner in the same ink color. The panel was then adhered to a mat in Night of Navy and this unit was adhered to the front of a Mint Macaron card base.

On a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the two sails in Mint Macaron ink and I used the Sailboat Builder Punch to punch out the images. The sailboat was punched out from a scrap of Night of Navy cardstock. The sails were adhered to the mast of the sailboat using small drops of liquid glue. I then used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sailboat to the card front, making sure the sailboat was sitting in the “water”.

The same pattern paper from the By The Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper pack was used for the inside panel, except when trimming this panel down, I chose to just include the “sky”. An additional sentiment was stamped onto this panel in Night of Navy ink and I also stamped the flying birds in the upper left corner of the panel – also in Night of Navy ink. This panel was then adhered to the inside of the card.

I stamped the birds again onto the lower left front of the envelope and added a piece of coordinating paper to the envelope flap and trimmed away the excess paper from the flap to finish off the envelope.

To finish up the card I added several Enamel Dot Essentials to the card front. Wha-la! The card is complete!

This card would be great for either male or female and for anyone who is heading out for a new adventure – new home, big trip, new job, etc.

If your answer is “yes” to any of these questions, then these Craft & Chat sessions are for you!
