This card was created using the Warm Welcome Stamp Set, Warm Welcome Dies and the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder along with some pretty paper from the Tea Boutique 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack for a quick and easy card for baby.
My husband and I will be attending our Great Nephew’s christening this coming weekend (our first great nephew!) and I needed a card for the occasion. This card is a non-traditional take on a christening card but could easily be used for a baby’s birth or birthday! As this is the couple’s first child…the shoe image was perfect! Mom’s shoes are colored in Polished Pink, Dad’s in Tahitian Tide and Baby’s in Balmy Blue.
I started off by embossing a white panel using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. Smoky Slate ink was lightly blended across the embossed surface to highlight some of the bricks. The embossed panel was adhered to the front of a card base in Balmy Blue.
The open-door image from the Warm Welcome Stamp Set was stamped onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Smoky Slate ink then die cut. I used a Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend to give the door panels some shadow then used a Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter to soften the shadow lines. A panel was die cut in a Tahitian Tide print from the Tea Boutique 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack and adhered to the door opening. The door unit was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The shoe image was stamped onto white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink then colored with Stampin’ Blends and die cut. This is such a sweet image! I used the light shades of Tahitian Tide, Balmy Blue and Polished Pink to color in the shoes. The shoes were adhered to the bottom of the doorway using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two sentiments from the Warm Welcome Stamp Set were combined for the sentiment on the card front. A door knob was die cut using Silver Foil and a double bow was added to the door using twine in Tahitian Tide from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine Pack.
A white panel was added to the inside of the card with simple sentiment “Yay”. A piece of coordinating designer series paper was added to the envelope flap, and I trimmed around the flap to finish off the envelope.
Simple, quick and easy and oh so adorable for a baby!
