The fold for this card was CASE’d from Julie Davison. Thank you for this great fun fold, Julie! This Easy Sidestep card is great for showcasing die cuts…especially a pretty teacup decorated with winter greenery! And there are no complicated card cuts!
Because this card is a fun fold card, I have entered it in the Creative Creases Challenge.

This card consists of a card base piece and the sidestep piece. I started off by cutting and scoring these two pieces in Garden Green. Next, I cut all of the DSP pieces using paper from the Painted Christmas 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.
The DSP pieces were adhered to the card base and the sidestep, except for the piece of DSP adhered to the back of the card base. This will be adhered after the card is assembled. The sidestep was adhered to the card base.
A sentiment from the Brightest Glow Stamp Set was stamped onto a piece of scrap Basic White cardstock and die cut using a circle from the Layering Circles Dies. An additional circle was die cut in Garden Green cardstock using one of the scalloped circles from the same set. The sentiment label was adhered to its Garden Green mat.
The teacup die from the Teacup Dies set was traced onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and I stamped the pine bough from the Christmas Banners stamp set onto the teacup. The traced line helped me decide where to stamp. Two holly leaves and holly berries were also stamped. The stamped images were die cut using coordinating dies and I also die cut two pine boughs and a sprig from the Christmas Banners Dies.
It’s time to decorate our card front. The holly leaves and berries were adhered to the tea cup, then adhered to the sidestep using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The two pine boughs and sprig were tucked into the teamcup top and adhered to the sidestep.
The sentiment label was adhered to the left side of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a Garden Green bow above the sentiment label and adhered several Opal Rounds to the card front.
For the envelope, I stamped several pine boughs in the lower front corners of the envelope and adhered a coordinating piece of DSP to the envelope flap then fussy cut around the flap to finish off the envelope. This completes today’s card!
I love a sidestep card for showing off die cuts. The possibilities are endless! This card would look great showing off a pretty die cut Christmas tree, or flowers. And the finished card makes a great display piece. I hope you’ll give this card a try as it’s so easy to pull together and fun to decorate!
