Stampin’ Up! Celebrate Sunflowers Thank You Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “Fall Frenzy”. We can interpret this theme any way that we want. Our Krew has lots of talented team members participating this month so be sure to check out their Hop posts! You can find navigation links further down on this page.

Fall is my absolute favorite season of the year! To me Fall brings so many good memories and I love the crisp, cool air and all of the smells and color that come with Fall. When I was thinking about my card for today, I immediately thought of the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle. Sunflowers are glorious in the Summer but come Fall, they provide their bounty to feed the birds!

I started off with a card base in Basic Black and added a Crushed Curry embossed panel to the card front. I love the contrast between these two colors! I used the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder to emboss the Crushed Curry panel then took the panel to my paper trimmer to trim off the top right corner of the panel to reveal more of the black base.

Next, I die cut the sunflower outline in Daffodil Delight cardstock using the Sunflower Dies. I used blender brushes to darken the center of the sunflower using Soft Suede ink and blended a little Pumpkin Pie ink around the middle of the sunflower. The sunflower outline was then adhered to a black square panel cut from the Stylish Shapes Dies, then adhered to a Crushed Curry mat. The sunflower center was adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Several die sets were used to die cut some foliage and a tree branch. The Harvest Dies set was used to cut a tree branch in Soft Suede. The remaining foliage was die cut using the Sunflowers Dies and were die cut from Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler. A sunflower leaf and leaf outline were die cut using Granny Apple Green. The foliage and tree branch were cut into shorter sections. The matted sunflower was placed on the card front in the upper left corner and the foliage, tree branches and leaf were dry fitted to determine placement before adhering.

The sentiment was stamped onto Crushed Curry cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, then die cut using the largest banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I created a tassel from twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. Instructions for creating the tassel are included in the pdf tutorial which is linked below.

The tassel was first adhered to the top center of the card using Stampin’ Seal and adjusted as needed so that the tassel would not cover up the sentiment, although it does hang slightly over the sentiment label. The matted sunflower was then adhered to the card front in the upper left corner using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The foliage, tree branches and leaf were all tucked under the right side of the sunflower panel and glued into place. The sentiment label was added to the bottom center of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish off the card front I added multiple Amber gems from the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack. These amber gems are beautiful!

To finish off the card a white panel was added to the inside of the card with a strip of the embossed Crushed Curry cardstock adorning the bottom of the panel. The small sunflower image from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set was stamped in Memento ink onto the envelope front and envelope flap then colored in with Stampin’ Blends in Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Crumb Cake.

Ahhh, all of the glorious colors of Fall! This card makes me so happy!
