Friday Fun Day! Making Paper Bows

making paper bows

Happy Friday everyone!

I’ve been wanting to try bow making and came across a video from The Paper Boutique on YouTube…I had to CAS this technique as it is so much fun and very quick and easy! How cool would it be to have your gift bow match your handmade card! If your gift is small enough, you could even use designer series paper to wrap your gift, top it with a coordinating bow, and have a matching card!

You can make a regular sized bow from one sheet of 6″ x 12″ DSP, or one sheet of 8-1/2″ x 11″ cardstock with very little waste and using minimal supplies. I also made a bow from cardstock. I selected a pretty flower stamp from the Happiness Abounds stamp set and stamped repeatedly in Gorgeous Grape onto a piece of Highland Heather cardstock – tone on tone. I also experimented with the circle section of the center of the bow and cut this center strip slightly longer and wider for a different look. I love how both bows turned out. What do you think?

I hope you’ll give bow making a try…it’s loads of fun! You can view, download and print written instructions to make this bow by clicking on the icon below. The written instructions provided are my own.

Products used to make this project are included below.
