Blended Dahlia Card Project

Today’s project uses the Dahlia Days Bundle. The star of this card is the blended dahlia which appears on the card front, envelope and on the inside of the card! The dahlia was stamped in Pale Papaya ink on Pale Papaya cardstock, then with a blender pen, Calypso Coral ink was used to shade the dahlia to really make it stand out. Of course, the Very Vanilla die cut lace over the black card mat helps to increase the drama of this card as well.

Ink blending using a blender pen is not difficult and doesn’t take a lot of time, but the reward is great! Give it a try and let me know what you think. Blender pens are quickly becoming one of my favorite tools!

Friends Are Like Seashells Card Project Featuring Waves of the Ocean/ Savings are in Bloom! / New Robot Buddies Kids Card Kit

friends are like seashells…you collect them along the way

Here is another card using the Waves of the Ocean bundle. Today’s card features an ocean wave crashing to shore with a pelican looking on while seagulls drift lazily overhead. Can you hear them?

I used an ink dauber to blend the sky colors of Balmy Blue and Fresh Fresia, while I used a blender pen to deepen part of the wave, the pelican, and pilings. The card is mounted on a Misty Moonlight card base with Wink of Stella to sparkle up the white of the wave, the seagulls, pelican and cloud.

The Waves of the Ocean Collection is now open for customer orders and I’m very excited for you to get your hands on this collection because all of the items are beautiful! Customers can order any of the Waves of the Ocean collection beginning March 1 through May 2. The bundle – the stamp set and dies – are an early release from the upcoming annual catalog. Blessings of Home Z Fold Card Project

Happy Monday! Today’s card features the Blessings of Home large flower cluster in Fresh Fresia with accents of Smokey Slate and black. The Z fold is a perfect card base to show off this beautiful flower bouquet!

Stampin’ Blends were used to really show off these flowers and I paid careful attention to shading the petals and leaves to really make the flowers pop. Colors used include Fresh Fresia, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Mossy Meadow, Pumpkin Pie, Smokey Slate, and Balmy Blue.

I love playing with color! The light and dark shades of Fresh Fresia were used on the flower petals and the light shade of Smokey Slate Stampin’ Blends were used to deepen the shadows on the petals, then blended again with Fresh Fresia. The Color Lifter Stampin’ Blend was used to lift and lighten some of the petals. Granny Apple Green is the primary color on the leaves with the dark shade of Mossy Meadow for the shadows, then blended again with Granny Apple Green. The same with the flower centers – Daffodil Delight is the primary color with the darker shade of Pumpkin Pie introduced to provide depth.

The black mats against the Smokey Slate card base really add to the impact of this card as well as the weathered wood planks of the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper. A black glitter ribbon bow was added to the card front and a portion of the flower bouquet was stamped and colored for the inside of the card as well as on the envelope. Caution…when coloring envelopes with Stampin’ Blends be sure to slip a piece of cardstock inside of the envelope to protect the opposite side from bleed through of the Stampin’ Blends.

I hope you enjoy today’s project! You can find the free, downloadable project sheet for this card here.
