Pretty Yellow Flowers on Navy / All Together Collection Now Available for Ordering / New Host Code for February

Pretty Yellow Flowers on Navy

Today’s card uses the Blessings of Home bundle and In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. I hadn’t yet played with this DSP or this stamp set. The Night of Navy/White DSP in the In Good Taste pack caught my eye. And what color looks great with Navy, you might ask? Why, that would be yellow! And we’re off!

I cut a mat in Night of Navy cardstock and a strip of the DSP which was mounted onto the navy down the left side. I stamped the smaller of the flower images from the Blessings of Home stamp set onto Basic White cardstock and used my Stampin’ Blends to color in the image. When coloring, or painting images, I like to pay attention to where I want my light source to come from so that I can properly place shadows on the image. In the case of this card, the light source is coming from the upper right which means most of the shadows (under petals and leaves) will fall on the lower left. I went back with the Stampin’ Blends Color Lifter and lifted some of the light Daffodil Delight on some of the petals to indicate light is falling on those particular petals.

I adhered the Night of Navy/DSP mat to the card base and added a white label sentiment, shadowed by Night of Navy, with the sentiment stamped in Night of Navy. I added a White Faux Linen ribbon knot and popped up the label and die cut flower image to the front of the card. A few bumblebees were added to the card and the card front is complete! A piece of Basic White cardstock was added to a Night of Navy mat for the inside of the card. The envelope was completed with a second-generation stamp in the lower front corner from the same flower image used on the front of the card and a piece of coordinating DSP was adhered and fussy cut on the envelope flap.

This completes the card and I just love the color combination! You can find the instruction sheet and list of supplies used by clicking here. If you’d like to purchase the supplies used to make this card a link to my online store is included on the instruction sheet.
